I don't act offended and I don't think people are ignorant b/c they ask. The word teacup is all over the place. I just explain that Shelby is on the small side but Yorkies are in the toy group and the standard is under 7lbs. average 4-7 lbs. If people go on and on about wanting a tiny one, I tell them the safest way to find a healthy small one. I can understand wanting a small one. I did. | |

| Debbie is three pounds so we get that teacup thing a lot. I usually just say she's a little yorkie but if they persist, I'll tell them it's not like poodles and that yorkies are yorkies. One woman got angry with me, saying how it was nice to be corrected in public, but she asked me a question and when I gave her the correct answer, she didn't want to hear it. |

| What's next invisible Yorkie they are so small you can't even see them?? It's not the terminology that upsets me. It is the intentionally putting tiny mamma's at risk to attempt to produce even tinier babies who are more susceptible to health issues. The other thing is they make the breed standard seem like some kind of defect. How anyone can think a 4-7 or even 10 lb dog is big is absurd.

| Didn't I tell you guys! I'm getting a third! Shes a special Yorkie out of Scotland. Shes an Iota Yorkie , she's small enough to fit in a tiny box that I can either wear around my neck or on a key chain. The boxes come in many colors and you can even get them studded in Swavorsky Crystals! She is setting me back almost 6 grand! But she is as small as they come and I just had to have her! Oh, did I mention that she comes with a tiny little magnifying glass so you can show her to your friends? its super cool, its the same color as the box! Totally matching! Way cool! I'm going with Hot pink to match my new Kate Spade bag! I think I'll dangle her off of the strap! How hot is that going to look? What ever will I name her? Tiny? Teeny? Itsy? Bitsy? Crazy? Scary? Fixated? Obsessive?
