| Still Can't believe this! I was in the vet today and this guy had what I thought was a Maltese puppy. Turns out the dog is 3 years old and weighs under 3 lbs. He proceeded to tell me how he had to get her from MO because he couldn't find anyone or any pet stores in NJ who "MADE THEM THIS SMALL". He said the mom and dad were about 3lbs too. (note my head doing a WTF double take). He then proceeds to tell me about how she has liver problems and can't go outside at all or she might get sick. And tells me this is what is to be expected when you want a little one. He didn't want a big dog. (Note the WTF head turn again). Then he asks me how hard was it for me to find such a little one. I told him that Mac was not suppose to be little and was very sick as a baby. I had to bite my tongue so I wouldn't call this guy an A**hole. I guess it's not just "people looking for tiny Yorkies it must be for the teacup Maltese breed too. I think my head is still spinning.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | LOL...I LOVE the 'head turn' commentary I think I'd have given him an earful on selling and breeding undersized dogs...it's pretty sad there are people out there that really think this way too. The guy had no clue what he was talking about...but in his head - he thinks he does. That's scary. I imagine this is happening with all small breeds now....Those poor tiny mommies being forced to have babies just so someone can have an extra small dog just makes me feel so bad for them.... |

| What an idiot! Why doesnt he just get a hamster or a gunea pig. I think the small yorkies are cute too but to look for super tinies is just too much.

| I forgot to include the best part. He was looking into tiny yorkies but heard that Yorkies are vicious dogs. He went to pet one somewhere and the dog nipped at him. SMART DOG! Probably think what an A@@Hole. (I kept whispering in Mackies ear attack, attack.)

| I don't understand how someone can put the size of the dog over the dogs health that is terrible. You are much nicer than me one of us would have had to have found a new vet because I would have given him a piece of my mind.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | What's even sadder is he said he HAD to go to MO for the puppy - chances are that is a Puppy Mill dog ...That's big Mill territory....and to actually have to to another state just to get a tiny tiny dog you'd think would be a clue... so many of those poor tiny dogs being bred are in for a lifetime of suffering....that man is just ignorant of the reality of his poor dog ....and I have a feeling if it's that sick now...then it isn't going to have a very long life.... I bet his attidude won't be so cocky then.... |
