Yorkie Meet Up Just wanting to know if the date is set for May 6? Don't want this meet up to fade away.... I'm too excited!!! |
may 6th and eagle creek works for me, if i can wait that long. at the rate we are going it will take that long to get everything worked out. so whoever was going to check out the park could go ahead and do that, find out if we need to reserve some space, the site said we had to have proof of shots, and it would cost $4:oo per dog maybe we can get a discount as a group. do they have grill's if we are cooking anything or should we bring some or is this going to be a cold lunch either way is fine for me. what else? |
OK...Let set the date as May 6:00 at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis. I will go this weekend and check things outs. I will try to reserve a shelter. Ok anyone that is going needs to email me at Denise517@comcast.net and let me know for sure. Everyone will need to bring a covered dish, Not sure how to handle the gift exchange. Lets say all rsvp need to be in by April 15th. That will give us time to figure out everything. Once we know who is going we can asign like a Yorkie Pal to them to buy a gift for. That way it is more personal. Now we also have to set an$$$amount on the gift exchange too. If you want to join the fashion show and pet trick show just sign up for it in the email. As far as petstores and stuff they too will have to rsvp by April 15th so that we can get a final total. You can give my email Denise517@comcast.net any maybe someone else who wants to help and maybe a phone number my cell 765-749-4365 for more information on it if needed. If they show up without rsvp then there yorkie just wont get a gift. or we could by yorkie gifts at a certain dollar amount (clothes, different sizes, toys, etc.) then auction them off and give money or a recuse fund or some pet charity. That might be easier. ??? Let me know your thoughts. I'm not trying to be pushy, just trying to plan a date and see what happens. Please give me your input.... Thanks |
well this is sounding pretty good to me. hope april flies by. lynne |
the date is May 6th, but what about a time??? Remember people may be driving for 2 hours or better so dont make it to early. |
How about 11:00 on the time??? |
that may be a little early, I know I have a 2 1/2 hour drive, I would prefere more like 12:30, if people want to get there early to get food cooking, thats fine! I will post on Dogster for the "Indiana Yorkie Club" let me know. |
I'm going down this weekend and check things out. By tues. We will have where we will meet. I'll try to get shelter by then. That way we can post things in our community so far Date: Saturday, May 6th Where: Eagle Creek Park - Indy Time: 11:00 - to maybe 3:00 or so Rsvp by April 15th to Denise517@comcast.net It's going to be Fun!!! Cant wait to see all the yorkie babies |
Ok, I called Eagle Creek, If we wanted the dog park, There is not much there. and dogs can run free. Have to worry about all the rules. Instead i rented a shelter 8f. They only had one availble for May 6th so I went ahead and got it. its by a playground has a shelter with table for 80 people, grilles, water, and electric..I thought this would be better. There are walking trails around it, a nature park, etc. This park is really big. If we do this we wont have to worry about all the rules for dogs and there is more to do. I think it will be nice. She is sending me a contract to sign and I'll send in the money. The cost is $90.00 which I will pay for. She will send me maps etc. So start rallying up the people and yorkie owners. you can go to indyparks.com and go to eagle creek north map. We will be shelter 8f in the Mt. Pleasant shelter. She said these are the nicely located. I hope this is ok with everyone. I have one of those eight sided fence things for dogs I will bring and set up If you want them to get a break from leashes etc. If anyone else has one bring it. |
sorry I guess She said 8 s its the first one when you come in off 56th street. no 8f.... Thats all they had available. Hopefully it will be nice. I hated not to reserve it and be able to do it at all. Let me know what you think |
you need to put a link to the map of how to get here.... |
I was thinking if anyone wants to volunteer to help. Like put someone in charge of Gift Exchange Table, Someone in charge of Fashion Show, etc. Let me know if you want to take on that responsiblity. We can get into the shelter after 9:30. So a few of us who are closier can go a littler early and help out. I will post a map After Sat. So i will know exactly where to go after i ck it out this weekend. Also thought we could bring some outdoor games for adults and kids if anyone has those |
Meet Up First off....THANK YOU DENISE !!!! for getting the ball rolling on this and sticking to it. I appreciate you doing this sooooooo much. Should everyone let you know how many people and dogs that are attending? Excellent idea for those of us who have them to bring our x-pens. Also lawn chairs and anything else they want to bring for comfort. I personally am not too interested in games for adults although some will like it. I would rather chat and learn, enjoy the fashion show and Yorkie tricks or whatever else people want to do. Maybe on the gift table we can also put a donation jar to help pay expenses. |
what about utensils, paper plates, drinks? we need to know who is going to bring meat so we kinda know what to bring. We could start a signup sheet to let others know what to bring? Lawn chairs is a great idea. |
Here's a link to a site map of Eagle Creek Park http://www.indygov.org/NR/rdonlyres/...KPARKNORTH.pdf In the event the link does not work, www.indybarkpark.org and click on Eagle Creek. :aimeeyork |
