| I'm so sorry to read about Ruby's hair! I do know how you feel...when something happens that upsets me, I can stay upset and be totally bummed over it for a long time. It is just so frustrating when there's nothing you can do to fix it now! Best wishes...I hope Ruby's hair grows fast, and until then, she's still a doll!!!

| I don't know how long it will take to grow out. I have the same problem right now. My neice decided to take the bow out of mines hair and took sissors and cut the whole thing off. I was so angry my sister didn't bring her kids over for 2 wks. It has been about 3 1/2 wks since this happened and at least now her hair will lay down and not stick up. I was just thinking that to even her out that I should just give her a whole hair cut. |

| I don't want to minimize your pain because I know I would be the same. It's funny though I got a rescue Yorkie and she had to be cut really short because of matting. The majority of people who came over and saw her and my other dogs (all long with top knots) thought she looked better and I should cut them in puppy cuts! I know it will grow out and you will get used to it until it does. |

| I'm so sorry to hear that your neice decided to play "beauty shop" with Ruby. Ruby probably thought it was great to get the attention!! Maybe you could try a little gel when you put her topnot in. It will help hold the little hairs all in place until it grows back in. Just be glad that she only cut a small strand.

| OH NO i am sorry to hear about your babys hair i know it must be very upsetting to you but it will grow back out....this thread made me think of a show i saw on animal planet last night there was two young boys fighting put bulls and they had took a pair of sicssors and cut the dogs ears clean off to the head....it made me so mad and so upset and hurt for the poor dog...and what made it even worse was the boys dad knew what he had done and didnt even take the poor little baby to the vet to get help he (the dad) told the animal cops that he used proxide to heal the ears....i know he might not have been able to afford to take the dog to the vet but he should have just have it to the animal shelter and they could have taken him to the vet or got him help....it is just sad that kids do these things so my point here is it is a good thing your neice isnt like that you know i am sure she wasnt trying to be mean or hurt the dog in anyway...*hugs* i hope you feel better today...did you talk this over with her so she will know not to do it agian |

| Bummer indeed! I know that feeling of wanting to smash something! Thats about the time i realize that Mom needs a time out... I was ready to throw something at the groomer that shaved down the bridge of Pixies nose and between her eyes when she was about 4 months old... I saw red when I picked her up! Its been 2 months and the hair is just over an inch... long enough to curl around and poke her in the eye! Its the "inbetween" stage! Its growing out much faster than I thought, but at the same time it feels like it will never catch up to the rest.... well, it never really will... But it is looking much better! Chin up! I bet your amazing with the brush and a bow! Once it grows out a little, I'm sure that you'll be able to hide it!

| Oh, I feel ya. When Bailey was younger, I left him with my parents for a week b/c I was going to visit my boyfriend to throw him a birthday party. They didn't brush him the WHOLE time, so he was ridiculously matted. So matted, in fact, that the groomer had to shave him practically bald. He went from black to grey in a matter of minutes. Not only was he cold, and incredibly tiny looking, but I missed out on part of puppyhood b/c he didn't jsut naturally ease into his adult coat. And there are no good groomers in my town, so I go through emotional drama everytime he gets groomed. But it will grow back. Just let yourself have a moment to be upset, cry if you must, and then look at your baby and realize that she's so adorable, you could shave her bald and still have the most beautiful dog in the whole world. |

I saw part of that, but I had to leave. It was horrible. Do you know what they did with the dog? Did they take care of his ears? | |

| Well, I came home from work last week, and my husband decided that he wanted to take the initiative and be helpful....so thought it would be very thoughtful to help save money by giving Hobbs a homemade haircut....I just laughed and laughed....I could just picture my husband down on the floor giving our 3 pound yorkie a haircut!!!!!!!! How could I possibly be mad?! And I will have to be perfectly honest....Hobbs actually looks cute!!!!! I know it really really sucks...but try to look on the bright side!! |
