| Who uses heartworm meds?? I was wondering how many of you have your yorkies on heartworm meds?? Mine is 2-1/2 and she's never been on any...she stays inside 99% of her life so I didn't think she needed it??? but what if she did get it - would it be the end of her since they are so little?? |

| Have your vet test your little one for heartworms before starting any hearworm medication since she has never taken any meds for it.

| I keep my dogs on it regardless to if they are indoors or out. (I live in Alabama...it is not uncommon for mosquitos to occasionally get in your house here.) I had a dog that had heartworms and was successfully treated once. That is not an experience I EVER want to have again. It was a risky surgery to remove the worms, a long unpleasant recovery period of confinement and costly up into the thousands! |

| Around here where it gets so cold, Maddie only needs to be on it June through November. I've heard heartworm is a terrible thing for a dog to go through and many times fatal, so I guess I'd rather be on the safe side and use the heartworm meds!
