Mine are on them year round. Where I live mosquitos are horrible. Have you asked your vet if she needs to be on them year round or just in the warm months? I would definitely check into it.

				 | Ginger is on Interceptor year round. Because she’s so small it is relatively inexpensive and worth it, to avoid potential problems.

Me too. It kills more intenstinal(sp) worms than the heartguard.

I get mine through the vet...so far I haven't found a place that can beat his price. And don't ask me what it cost per package per dog because I buy several packages at once for several dogs lol..I usually try to stock up on everything at once every winter..that way I have all I need for the summer and I know come Feb. It's time to buy everything again..

				 | I give Max and Abbie Interceptor. They spend most of their time indoors, however I'm concerned about the mosquitos during the humid summer months

				 | Interestingly, they don't have heartworms (or rabies, for that matter) here in England. When I get back to the States, though, I will put Joey on heartworm medication the minute he gets back - if not before! He doesn't spend much time outdoors, but it's not worth the risk.

				 | My Golden Ret. (Jazzy and Jeter) are both on interceptor and now Mayzie is too. I live in PA and I have killed a mosquito in the house here during the winter so I don't take chances. We are on it all year round. It's expensive for my GR because one is 97 lbs and his sister is 87 - I split a box between the 2 every 3 months. The cost for theirs is 40 bucks a box. I am glad Mayzie's will be for 6 months and the smallest dose so I'm sure it will be cheaper. It is just not worth skimping on preventatives! If anybody finds a good place to buy interceptor online, I would be interested in knowing about it. I am not even sure if you can purchase it anywhere other than a vet--does anyone know? |

				 | Miko is on revolution which is heartworm preventive and for fleas, etc. all in one....It's not a pill, it's a liquid that you put on their neck between the shoulder blades and that's it. I think it's great! It's all-in-one!

				 | Ok, Gucci is not on heart meds yet. After reading this post Im making sure she will now. She is not on it cause of the same reasons MaggieMae'sMom posted. Wow, now I feel like a bad mommy. How it is test it, with a blood test or stool sample? |
