| ![]() Oh my goodness I just read about the pup she bought named Tike and how he had kennel cough and gave it to the 4 yr. old yorkie, why would you buy a smaller 1.5-2lb yorkie if you have a infestation of kennel cough at your home? Not to sound rude but what were you thinking? |

| ![]() I agree, I feel bad in a sense because she is getting really tough opinions & comments from us but I also do not condon what MaryKay did, i was reading back on some of her threads & cannot understand her frame of thought. I mean you say you already love Tike so why did u get another yorkie so soon& why are you getting rid of him? I have 2 Gizmo is very small & petite 4.4 lbs but I didn't pick him that way, it just so happened he is 9 mo. & I would love him regardless, My Maddy is almost 6mo & weighs 5.8 but I love her just as much as Gizmo.... I could not see myslef giving her away or selling her even if she weighed 20lbs...the way I see it is there is just more to love....I mean you already had a 5.5 lb one then Tike who is bigger..why not wait? It is always harder when you have smaller ones like GIZMO , they get sicker easier & hurt...... I hope you do what is best for the new puppy ......sorry if I came out to strong I guess I literally take my yorkie kiddos to heart.... I could not imagine life w/out them.... |

| ![]() If everyone who ever experienced disruptive, destructive and disturbing behavior with their dogs decided to give them away, none of us would have our dogs!! It comes with owning a pet and making the decision to accept these animals into your home and family. This is a decision that people often make impulsively and later it is the dog that winds up suffering. People should consider all things when purchasing or adopting a pet. I sickens me to hear of these poor animals that wind up in shelters because their humans later decided they weren't "dog people". ![]()

| ![]() If you don't love him, haven't bonded with him and just don't feel like he is going to fit into your family- for whatever reason you have- find him another home. Place him with a family who will love him just the way he is. (if he is that rough with other dogs, then maybe a home where he will be the only dog would be best) I don't think anyone should be trying to convince you to keep a pup you do not want and you have spent a lot of time thinking about not keeping him. I'm not going to judge you and say that your reasons are right or wrong, no one really knows what the situation is at your house except you. My only point is if you don't want him because he is aggressive or because he is not going to be what you wanted or because you don't think he can live in harmony with your other pets, then you should find him another family where he will fit it. There are a lot of families who would love to have a yorkie to love- if he isn't working out for you, place him with another family. |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | ![]() This thread has been something. Let me say that I have had Lex three weeks now and he has done some damage to the furniture and I thought that the cat was gonna kill him. It does take a period for all parties to get adjusted. April (our cat) was literally growling at him...I thought that there was another dog in the house. I was worried for him but I know it takes time. April is almost three times his size. Anyhow time has passed and they now play like old buddies. So maybe if she gave it some time she would see that it would be ok. I presume that the situation is just way too much for her to handle and maybe partly she is dissapointed in his size. I can't see buying another puppy so close. But hey...what do I know. I do hope that she realizes it's not the dogs fault. He is a baby himself and is probably jealous of the new pup. Maybe if she left them and just watched them and gave equal attention then all would be much better.

| ![]() Bottom line is that Big Guy needs a loving home where he's wanted. All the rest of it is irrelevant. Can anyone offer him a home? If necessary ship him my way and I'll find him a home.

| ![]() This is very sad. this breed can be difficult sometimes but that is who they are. they can be hard to house train and jealous. but you should learn these things before you purchase one. if you ask some questions before you make the purchase you can learn how to tell about what the adult size will be. I have just gotten a new yorkie and he is about the same age as my female who we have had for over a year. we have a lot of jealousy and other things going on but it takes time to adjust, much more than a week. and if you have more than one yorkie your house will only be quiet when they are sleeping........... |
