| hello everyone, My little girl is 5 months old and weighs in at 1.65 pounds. She has only put on 50 grams since we got her two months ago but she is eating well. Should I be worried?. I give her the Royal Canine Yorkshire Terrier nuts for breakfast and leave her with a bowl of them for the day time and she does eat them. And for her evening dinner she has a bowl of nuts with some Caesar dog food...about a quarter of the tin at 7 pm. Plus she has her wee treats and a bit of cheese when she does her wees in the right place....Can anyone please advise as after reading your mails I am starting to worry that she is too small!! Thank-you and Greetings from snowy Finland! |

| Bobby is 6 months old and 9 pounds. I think he's a good size, even though it's above the standard. I wonder why the breed standard only goes up to 7 pounds, though, when the original dog was about 15 pounds, from what I've read? Julie |

Thank-you for your advice. I took her to the vet last week for her check up and she said that she is just a very small dog and that her weight was fine. She was the tiniest in her litter but I tell you...she has a fine pair of lungs....!!! I will certainly check out those food products. Regards, Muireann | |

| yeah its strange how over the years they have made yorkies smaller. my first yorkie i had when i was only about 8 and was the size of a westie . then the next one was at his heavyist about 8pound then next was only little but round her heavyist was 9pound should of been 5pound,then there 2 pups who i still have are 8 and 10pound but should be about 6pound as you can tell ive got chubby dogs my girl i have now is a standard and is about 9pound but is under weight as shes a rescue dog. |

| Mollie is 5 1/2 - 6 lbs and Wyatt is 6 1/2 to 7 lbs. I guess they are both standard sizes.
