Would you trade YOUR Yorkie? I was searching through yorkie websites this morning and found this! I'll cope/paste then post the link... Yorkie I am looking for a female Yorkie, I have a poodle puppy or an adult Irish Setter or even a minature horse that I would trade for her. Hubby says I have spent to much money on puppies, if I want one I have to figure out a way to get her. Email me and I can send pics of the Poodle, Irish Setter or Minature horse. I will even sell out right one or all of these animals. If interested email and maybe we can work something out. http://www.hoobly.com/0/0/237429.html I have an AKC, 2 yr old female Irish Setter, that is crate trained, house broken and has never been bred, but is breedable. Beautiful mahogany color. I would like to trade her for a female Yorkie not more that 6 mos old or 5 lbs, but will consider older Yorkie female. For a smaller/younger female Yorkie I will consider trading a Toy Poodle that was just born 3/2/06. Can email pics upon request. http://www.hoobly.com/0/0/237010.html The reason I clicked on it was the pic of the Irish Setter. I have wanted one since I was a kid. It looks so sad in that crate. How could someone want to trade their animals to get a younger puppy? I am so aggravated!!! Am I overreacting???

My yorkies are family members--my babies. I guess some people just don't view family pets as members of the family otherwise they would not be open to the idea of getting rid of them in such a way. I could understand if for some reason you were no longer able to care for your dog for health reasons so you would want to find him a new home--one that would be able to provide what he needs. I think it's just terrible that someone would be willing to trade in a dog (or other animal) simply for a different breed. That poor Irish setter is 2 years old and has bonded with that family. I wonder what will happen when this person gets a yorkie, experiences housebreaking issues, is tired of the grooming requirements, and realizes just how high maintenance yorkies really are. When the "cuteness" wears off is she going to be willing to trade that dog in, too? My Max is 2 and he is so attached to us as we are to him. He will be with us for as long as he is alive (which will hopefully be many many years).

i would hope no-one would even respond to something like that... because as someone else stated what stops her from trading the yorkie when she wants a newer, younger, smaller model etc etc whatever the case may be

I would never trade or sell one of my furbabies. They are part of the family. Kobe is our 4th child. I just don't understand some people.

There are very ethical breeders who will trade puppies with one another, and I don't see anything wrong with that at all. But trading a family pet for a different kind of dog? Wow! I feel sorry for the pets she has that she is willing to trade. That's sad. She does seem desperate, hopefully someone will tell her about rescues.

I think I'll trade Peanut because he has a slight underbite. NOT!!!!!!!!! I can't imagine trading one pet for another! Maybe livestock, but not a member of the family! I hope she doesn't get a Yorkie to mistreat!

| You are not overreacting at all. How can you bond with an animal and then be willing to trade it in for a puppy. That makes me so sad. I wouldn't trade in George for the world. I totally agree with that is terrible. Also, now I may be overreacting but the Irish Setter seems a little too big for that crate. Poor baby
