| ![]() Glad to hear Oscar is fine. It is scary. I always debate on letting him out in the backyard and we have a gate. I am so scared that he will fit through an opening and never return. I know how you feel. ![]()

| ![]() Oscar is really cute. I'm sorry you had such a bad scare but that it turned out OK. It's one thing to let your dog run loose, but I think you should always keep an eye on them. It's too easy for someone to drive by and steal him. I don't know how big he is but birds of prey have picked up little dogs for a tasty meal too. All this can be avoided if you just keep an eye on him outside. |

| ![]() I'm worried about Murphy too. He hasn't been outside much yet because it's winter here. And, so far, he has always been on a leash. I did post recently that I bought him a 100-foot piece of clothesline - and he just loves going out and running all over when he's are on that. He almost never even goes to the end of it before he turns and starts running in another direction. My yard isn't fenced either - and I think he'll spend most of his outside time on the long piece of clothesline. Even if he breaks loose, I can catch it without even going near him. I am also whistle training him. He comes like a bullet in the house when I whistle for him (with a treat - a piece of chicken) --- and the two times I blew the whistle outside - he also quit whatever he was doing and came to me as fast as he could. I'll know by the end of the summer if this works all the time.) I can imagine how you felt. It's frightening to loose a little dog - or any dog (or child) for that matter....right! Good luck! BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | ![]() My goodness, I'm so glad you found him, what is it about Yorkies and running off, I started letting Kloey out without a leash and for the longest time she did real well, but as soon as she discovered there was another dog close by, she took off! So no more going wee wee w/out a leash! Lesson well learned, and by the way... what does a man know anyways! hehehehe, but don't tell him or my hubby I said that :-) I'm just glad he is ok and safe inside now! he is way to cute to lose! |

| ![]() Thanks Patti, Tammy and Carol Jean...I appreciate your kind words. I will figure out something where he can still enjoy his outside time and be safe at the same time. He just loves to be outside and if he lived in his own perfect world, he would be an outside dog...he loves it that much...but I won't have him anywhere but in the house. Rox626, beleive me, I do not neglect him...one minute he was there, the next I could not find him. I was standing at the door watching him and one second I saw him and then he was gone and I was calling him. I always keep an eye on him...I just need about 4 eyes...but don't worry, he won't be out of sight anymore.

| ![]() I hope you didn't think I was implying that you were being neglectful but too many people think a fence will keep their yorkie safe. I know many people read the posts and many people don't think about a hawk or large owl coming down and taking their dog away. I heard about one woman who had the horrorible experience of seeing her yorkie taken to the roof and getting eaten while all she could do was watch. |

| ![]() I am sure you must have been terrified. The great news is he was right there in your home and not lost which would have been devastating. ![]() |

| ![]() So glad this had a happy ending, it must have been really frightening for you all. Buddy's not allowed out without a leash. Besides the hawks and an unruly loose dog ![]() |

| ![]() I think, 1st of all, I'd fix it so no one could get under the house again, not even the cats. Then, I'd make sure he's on his leash every time you take him outside. Then, I'd make sure your husband promises to put him on the leash whenever HE has to take him outside. Good luck, Sweetie!
