it is so nice to see that everyone has a concerne and opinion for this subject. it shows that everyone here truely loves this breed and thier babies. hopefully some good can come out of this somehow. i have to thank "little mia " for posting this story on her website because it truely shows what bad breeders, puppymills, petstores are all about and what they do to these poor animals. i hate to see any dog suffer especially when they do nothing but give us unconditional love and put 100% trust in us. pls. read this it is very sad. pls go to: mylittlemia.com and click on precious.

Ok,Firstly, some people should read a thread COMPLETELY before resonding..no one has acused anyone wanting a tiny as being iresponsable or just wanting a fashion accesory! I wrote those posts and that is NOT what I said.I myself have a full grown 2lb yorkie so pointing my finger at those who also want one or have one would be very stupid of me.What I am saying is that TINY yorkies should NOT be bred, why? Because it can kill them and of course can result in sick puppies..plain and simple. This is why I think those breeders that brag about the tiny sizes of the parents and about the super tiny sizes of their pups are not only out of their minds, but totally iresponsable too. There ARE alot of "tiny" breeders out there that do this all the time, they do it to get yet more tinies and charge those rediculous prices, they are not breeding for the love of the breed, but for the love of MONEY,why else would they risk their females lifes??. Of course there will be tiny yorkies born from good sized parents,I have one my self and I never said that these shouldent be sold or searched for,so I dont know where anyone has got that idea from.I do however try to advise poeple of the huge responsabilty of having an extra small dog..its NOT like having a 7lb yorkie. They are more fragile, they never grow out of the possibility of getting hypoglycemia due to their size and of course you have to have eyes in the back of your head if you have other dogs or kids..or both This is all Iv ever said. Please please try to read a thread entirely before awsering because its very frustrating when people awser down the list and the story has suddenly been twisted

Chelsie, I have read these threads entirely and I was stating an opinion just like everyone else. We all have opinions on this subject and it's just very possible I was not even referring to yours. I appreciate all the expierience of everyone on this forum, we all benefit from it and I'm sure greatful for it. I wont repeat my opinions because they are already stated in prior threads which should probably be read entirely with an open mind before someone gets all bothered. ITS AN OPINION!!! I am niether right or wrong but I am entitled to an opinion, just as you are.

okay let me clarify this because obviously it ruffled feathers. i was not saying that "all" buyers with tiny yorkies are trying to use them as fashion statements ok. i was simply saying that some do. and you can't deny that. there are alot of people who see that celebrities have this breed and the ones that the celebs have are very tiny. and now thier like oh i want a "teacup" yorkie because paris hilton has one or brittney spears. i in noway said that "all" buyers or "all" owners of tiny yorkies are this way. wiith "some" people like this who only want the breed because it's the "in" dog in hollywood have no buisness buying one .that is exactly why these breeders are still in buisness because of some people not doing the research on this breed and just wanting them for thier looks "jmo". everyone here has a right to thier opinion on this subject. of course everyone will have thier own opinion, and some people may or may not agree but we use them as a learning tool to see where everyone stands with this issue. this is what makes yorkie talk a great place.

I Raise Yorkies, all Of My Babies Are 4.5 To 8lbs. And I Hate When I See An Ad For Teacup-babieface-micro-mini Yorkies For An Outragis Price When People Call About My Puppies, And Ask About The Teacups And So On I Tell Them They Do Not Exist. When You Register A Akc Yorkie, Its Paper Only Says Yorkieshire Terrier, Nothing Else. Just A Way To Get Big Bucks. My Puppies Sell From 600.00-800.00 Each And Are Very Health, Home Raised Babies

| Seems like it is getting a little heated here. I will say I do believe it is wrong to breed a bitch that is under 4 lbs, even that IMHO is a little small for breeding. We just have to realize what it is all about. When and if I do breed in the future it will to be to better the breed, looking for the ideals set forth by the bred standard. Which means not breeding for tinies. It is dangerous and I believe that not only myself but many here would rather continue to buy dogs rather than put one of our precsious babies though a pregnancy that could kill them. It isnt worth the risk to me, I would be divestated if I lost Bridget becuase I was selfish like that. I think more than anything this thread is like a warning to people, becareful, watch what you do. Sometimes we have no choice over which furbaby picks us, we just have to love them enough to do the right thing for them. Oh btw, doesnt Brittney and Paris have the chiuaua's, I thought they were. and I bought my baby becasue I have always wanted one, I cold care less if so and so has one, good for them. I still like my baby better
