| ![]() I don't plan on buying a puppy from divapup. I just thought it was interesting that they had a "rare white yorkie" on their website which someone else posted here. It turns out that the pups dad was a registered Maltese and the mom was half maltese half yorkie. So the pup is only 1/4 Yorkie but this lady says shes a "rare white yorkie" who costs $3250! It's outrageous! I still might get a Yorktese if a breeder of Yorkies and Malteses maybe has an accident. You never know and it will be a reputable breeder none the less. |

Sorry, I have to disagree, I do not believe that a responsible breeder has accidents. I know that most people I know realize when their bitch is in heat and knows to keeps them seperate from others. IMO

| ![]() I had an accidental breeding with a red poodle I was taking care of once. Lucky, and he got lucky, was a dear boy, he stayed in my familyroom with a Yorkie girl, Tessa. I never saw a breeding, I never saw any signs of heat..9 weeks later I saw two light red, orange pups come out of her. I beat myself up over it...then at Mattaponi dog show, the President of our Yorkieclub had a pen set up with some pups in it..they were obviously not purebred anything..she said they were her accidental breeding between her Yorkie and Shih Tzu..I told her about my "Porkies" ..it happens. Lucky's owner told me whenever he turned the corner to come up my street, Lucky went bonkers! Lucky never got the pleasure of being near my girls again. It happens to some mighty reputable people..over and over is another story. Last edited by YorkieRose; 03-31-2005 at 10:00 AM. |

| ![]() I guess my problem is I have seen many people say they have accidents, but that accident happens several times. Most people I know do know when their bitch is in heat. I know when Isis is, there are far more sings than smell or blood. I gess that accidents that are accidents do happen. But more and more it is a non accident, and these people claim to have hybrid pups and sell them for serious money for I am sorry to say this but a mutt. (i love all dogs, mutt or not). Pat over the last few weeks as I have been a member I do see you have a fairly high standard for breeding, and I am sorry if I offended you. I just really have seen so many "accidents" I find them hard to believe.

| ![]() You can not offend me. I add my two cents for what it is worth. IF a breeder has repeated accidents, then it is time to re-organize. |

| ![]() I read about one breeder who was expecting yorkie puppies (she breeds yorkies and malteses) She knew her Yorkie was pregnant and she thought they were Yorkies. People put deposits down on puppies and when they arrived, it turned out the dad was her maltese. I don't think accidents happen often, but I'm sure they happen once and awhile. And I have nothing against mutts anyways. If someone wants to breed and sell a mix puppy then go for it. If someone is willing to buy it and the breeder is reputable, then why not? |

| ![]() I'm not a breader , but as far a i know there is no such thing as a white yorkie. This lady is trying to make a quick buck. Yes you can have a little white on a yorkie and i have seen it normally under the chin area.. I think it becuse they have so many differnt colouring. Tan , silver black , blue. I don't belive that puppy is a full maltese but it could be mix with yorkie. I would not purchse a puppy from a person that breeds lots of dogs. At lease that way you will always feel better and not wonder if it was mixed. |

| ![]() Hi All! I'm new to the site and definately not a yorkie expert. It might be a maltese, I don't know, but I have done a lot of reading regarding yorkie puppies and checking their lineage to see if they were line-bred or inbred. Anyway, I came across a few articles and they said that there have been instances when a brother and sister were bred together that most of the litter would be nice quality pups, but there would be one that was all white with dark eyes (not albino). Apparently this phenomenon happens in different types of dogs as well (such as dobermans, boxers, and I can't remember the other one). So, it might really be a white yorkie that was the result of inbreeding. Either way, it would definately be advisable to steer clear of it!!

| I saw that white yorkie on her site a few weeks ago and I think it is adorable. If you notice, she has it listed in her Maltese pups for sale as a rare white yorkie. I really want to express my concern about these pups she sells. Last summer I purchased a female yorkie from miami from seasideyorkie.com and I was looking for a boy yorkie and that is when i discovered seasideyorkie puppies pictures were listed on divapups site, except she doubles the price. As I watched over a period of months, I noticed seaside yorkie had sooooo many litters of new yorkies. Like two litters a month.....I'm wondering is this considered a pupppy farm? I asked seaside yorkies about the double pictures and the excess of litters, and she said she has 12 yorkies in her home, and when she can't sell she sellers to divapup. Anyone else ever experienced this? ![]() |

| ![]() Sure! Divapups is a broker. They say so on their site. They say they have high standards that their breeders must meet to advertise with them and they would probably tell you what those were if you called. Because of their marketing, they mark the price up because now the breeder and DivaPups have to make some money to keep the business profitable. I have seen the same pups on PuppyFind and the prices are different. DivaPups tacks on their "commission" so to speak from the sale and if the sale is made through them they earn their commission... if not they don't. Does that make sense? |
