Thanks Kimberly. Unfortunately, the area where I live doesn't have any breeders that I would look to for advice. Even Las Vegas (the closest big city) seems barren of good quality Yorkies. The last show I went to in Vegas (April of this year) there were 21 Yorkies shown and not one was from Nevada. Most all of them were from California, and I didn't see anything there that interested me. Made me very sad. Trust me, your's could've taken it all. There were only 2 that had a decent coat color, so I doubt I'll find info there. Won't stop me tho. I hope to have many years left, and the time and patience. I'm only in the planning stages for this next year. The area where I live puts out some sorry representations of the breed, which is why I'd like to do my part in correcting it. LOL

What is a decent coat color for a Yorkie ?

The best description is the one by Joan Gordon posted by Kimberly. It's a dark steel blue silk. Not silver or gray or faded out looking. When you see a true blue silk (without dye or chalk), you'll gasp.

I took these pics of Buster earlier today his coat is the steel blue Summers is too(I'll post pics of her too)...I have him in a bit of oil though sorry, I am going to cut the little man down this week just mustering up the courage!

aww man, if kizzys coat ever gets that pretty, I would have a hard hard time making up my mind to cut it. she is gorgeous.

She is a little doll. Don't know about the Red Legged either, but Dennis is also the same color on the legs.

My friend have a yorkie that looks like a black and tan Australian Terrier . Boomer is 1 year old , he never grow a coat and stayed the same colors . Is it what people called a red legged Yorkies ?
