BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Groomer or no Groomer? How many of you take your Yorkie to the groomers? What do they do to them and how much does it cost? I groom Kloey myself, except her nails, I take her and have that done, but I bathe her and trim her myself, But I really would love a break at times and have thought of taking her somewhere, just not sure where and how much I should have to pay. I give her a bath 1 X a week and I use a gentle baby shampoo and a baby conditioner. |

| We give ours baths at home once a week, but we take them to the groomer for everything else. We go once every two months, and they each get a bath, puppy cut, nails trimmed and glands expressed for about $30, plus tip. We have one who throws a fit whenever we try to trim his nails, so it's definitely worth the money to have the groomer do it for us!

| We take Madison to the groomer once a month. I wash her myself if I feel like she needs it in between, but I just love the way she looks when she comes home from the groomer. Also, she hates it when I blow-dry her after and I will not even try to attempt to cut her nails (I am sooo afraid I'll mess up!!) They wash her, give her a nice shape-up, trim her nails and put a bow on her I have paid something different at every groomer I have taken her too. One place even charged me $80 ---- I thought I was hearing things!!! For the most part though, most places have charged me in the $30-$45 range. (I moved so I had to find a new place I liked). The place she goes to now charges us $32 plus tip and they are probably the best we have gone to.

| I've always done mine myself. Have never had a gland problem with any of them. I have always cut them into a puppy cut with a scissors. I trim the nails myself, probaby not as often as I should. I comb or brush when they are on my lap watching TV. FYI from what I have read you are never supposed to comb a yorkie when the hair is dry, always mist it first. Jeanie |

| I bathe Chloe and Lacey once a week with Chris Christensen's products except for baby shampoo on the faces. I get my hair done monthly and so do they. It's about $25 for clip, bath, nail trim and glands expressed. They look so good for about half and hour before they get all dirty playing outside but its worth it. |

Trimming the ears, feet & private parts are a chinch with a moustache clipper! Other than that is their weekly baths and trimming their back legs so it stays clean when they potty.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I do the same as Dan & Corinne...after trying 5 groomers I decided I could do most myself and do...but for anything major I'll go to a groomer again IF you really want to find a good groomer you're comfortable with - a good way to judge them is to cold call on them....I took Chanel with me to see HER reaction to the 4 groomers I visited one day....I just took her in and asked a few questions...and watched how she reacted with them and based my decision on her. That way you get the feel of the place without leaving your dog yet.....I found a nice groomer that way until she kind of messed up and I haven't been back. |

| What a great idea to let Chanel pick the groomer! Jazzie had a horrible experiance once. I picked her up from the groomer and her topknot was so tight she couldn't close her eyes! I gave them a piece of my mind! How would they like it if I tied their hair up so tight they couldn't blink! Then on the way home she had the runs all over her LookOut seat! All I can guess is that they left her in the tub with shampoo all over and she licked or drank it! I went back on a Saturday morning and let the customers coming in what happend to Jazzie. Some people kept on going in but many went elsewhere. I also put a stop payment on their check! This groom shop is supposed to have certified groomers!

| Bridget gets a bath on the weekends and has a standing appointment with the groomer once a month for bath, trim, nails, glands, etc. After several bad groomer experiences, I was lucky enough to find the perfect one! He charges $32 plus tip - totally worth it. I'd never attempt grooming myself, the results would be disastrous I'm sure! Some things are better left to the professionals! |

| I bring Gracie in for her teeth to be brushed once a month ($2.00) even thought I brush them daily. Her nails cliped as needed ($3.00) and I get her groomed every other month ($30.00 includes nails and teeth). I groom her myself inbetween visits and when I don't have the extra money. Luckly, my vet only charges me $5.00 to trim her face so when she won't let me do it I bring her into the vet!

| Hello everyone! Another newbee here to this site. I have a 4 month old female yorkie named Cindy. Anyway, I've noticed alot of you groom your own babies, and I was wanting to keep Cindys in a long coat. My question is, do you have to wrap the hair and if so, how often, to have her hair floor length. Or will it grow to the floor with no wrapping. It may be a stupid question, lol, but I've seen alot of websites with showdogs and breeders that do it. So I didnt know if it was just for show purposes,or if it actually helped the hair grow. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance, Kami |

Both of my girls has gold head but their body stayed as black as it was when they were puppies - I don't know why. I waited and waited for the sliver to come in but it never did. At first I was disappointed but now I love it! The black shines and shines and it's beautiful on them!
