| ![]() We think my bf may be very mildly allergic to Eleanor. When he gets around cats and other dogs he has trouble breathing. It's pretty bad. He can't even go in PetSmart. Eleanor gets all in his face and he just gets itchy eyes a little. ![]()

| ![]() I am so sorry! I hope that you 2 can find a way for all of you to be happy. I am sure if he takes something, he should be ok. My hubby loves Zeus as much if not more than me, if that's even possible! I never thought he would be so crazy over a little "girlie" dog, as he once put it, but he is head over heels for him!! ![]()

| ![]() My Boyfriend has no problem with any of our dogs, which i'm really happy about because I love them all! my brother is allergic to my dogs but he still touches them even though he gets all itchy-teary eyed and sneezy. His daughter on the other hand cannot come over because me and my dogs moved back into my parents house and his ex-wife won't let her come over cause she's too allergic ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() While you can be allergic to anything, including a Yorkie...usually people are allergic to the undercoat that Yorkies dont have....If its not the Puppy....could it be the shampoo? I had a BAD reaction to one of the kitty shampoos a few years ago... (Yep, I'm the one at the pet store that opens the shampoo, sniffs and walks around for 15 or so minutes before I go back and pick it up off of the shelf to purchase... ) Good luck! I hope you find a solution sooon . Bren

| ![]() Snickers mom, sorry to hear that your BF has such a reaction..it almost sounds as if he is becoming phobic. But, even if not, his psychological reaction to Snickers sounds pretty strong. Why will he not try to "take a pill" to see if it helps? And, as for what people react to in dogs--it can be dander(skin flakes), fur (Yorkies have hair), or the protein in their saliva. Maybe if you can wipe Snickers down with baby wipes before he comes over, that would help. I will not go further with the rest of what I am thinking ......... I do feel bad that you are caught in the middle but my ogs (and it sounds like yours does too) comes first....I am allergic to any animal that sheds fur-rabbits, cats, shedding dogs and I love all 3...When I go to the vet, I take extra allergy meds...I nearly die in there if I don't.. |

| ![]() My ex bo and I used to live together and He and Merlot was the source of alot of issues. He says that he doesn't not like him, but he's not an animal person. They used to play and rough house sometimes, but when I wasn't home he would actually close the bedroom door with Merlot on the outside. It pissed me off when I came home to see My Merlot sitting in the livingroom alone. We have since started seeing each other again, but I can't ever see getting serious with someone who doesn't love my dog like I do. I don't expect that from everyone, but I do from the man I'm going to share a home and my life with. |

| ![]() It's true that a Yorkie is on the list of dogs that are least apt to cause an allergic reactions. BUT - it can still happen. I took my puppy to work and one of my co-workers held him the better part of the day. Later in the day and for the next day or two, she had hives on her lower arms, wrists, and hands. Surprised her! And, a week or two later, she visited a pet store, handled some puppies, and had the same reaction. My vet said that not only can a dog's dander cause an allergic reaction, but its urine and saliva can do the same thing. (News to me!) And, he said that even with the breeds that are so-called "non-" or "hypoallergenic," there are some people who are allergic to them also. The end result is that people are less likely to experience an allergic reaction from a Yorkie - but it can still happen? Carol Jean |
