It's true that a Yorkie is on the list of dogs that are least apt to cause an allergic reactions.
BUT - it can still happen.
I took my puppy to work and one of my co-workers held him the better part of the day. Later in the day and for the next day or two, she had hives on her lower arms, wrists, and hands. Surprised her! And, a week or two later, she visited a pet store, handled some puppies, and had the same reaction.
My vet said that not only can a dog's dander cause an allergic reaction, but its urine and saliva can do the same thing. (News to me!) And, he said that even with the breeds that are so-called "non-" or "hypoallergenic," there are some people who are allergic to them also.
The end result is that people are less likely to experience an allergic reaction from a Yorkie - but it can still happen?
