Mari is 11 mos. and I paid $2500. Too much $$$ but I love every dollar worth. I paid for my first yorkie 15 yrs ago for $375.

We have a total of 5 yorkies, but one is from our litter. Our first, who is 4 years old, we paid $325 for her. Our 2nd, we paid $700 for her. Our 3rd, we paid $500 for him. And our last but not least (the cutest of them all!!! and smallest), we paid $750 for her. I can't even imagine paying more than that, ever. lol

I find the range of prices absolutely amazing. So far it looks like Indiana and Missouri are where we all should be getting our babies from.

I paid $750.00 for my little girl; she would have been $1000, but her breeder didn't have that litter's tail cropped. They were in the process of moving when the pups were born, and by the time she found a vet she liked the pups were over 3 wks old. So she offered a discount since cropping is breed standard in the U.S.

I was lucky and able to pay $900 for my pups and that included AKC papers too. Harley came from Phoenix, AZ and Lexi came from Frisco, TX. My husband and parents all think I'm crazy for paying so much. I can't help it though as soon as I saw their faces I was hooked. I was rolling pennies with Harley just to get him...LOL!

We got Oscar from a local breeder in 2004 for $500 - She charges $600 for females. I talked to a gal in Petco who had gotten one from her. Oscar is AKC registered. She had his sister from a previous litter and we just fell in love with her and her personality. Oscar has the same identical personality! This lady is elderly and is strictly a hobby breeder. All her dogs stay in the house with her. She never takes deposits until after the litter is born. I called her about the time she said they were due and got first pick and we chose Oscar from 4 pups. He is about 6 pounds. His sister from the first litter is 2 pounds.
