| ![]() Due to the thread re: when to switch puppy -> dog food, I have decided that Sully, at 9.1lbs, is now old enough for adult, less-fattening food. I called Sully's breeder and she agreed, given that his parents are only 6 and 7 pounds....but he's perfectly healthy, we're sure of it, and love him to death no matter what. After much consideration of the Royal Canin Yorkshire food, I decided that 1. it was a bit pricey, and 2. Sully is on the larger side for a yorkie and that food might be higher in fat. We settled on Nutro Small Bites Lamb & Rice. That's good, right? I mean, gosh, I paid a handful for it.

| ![]() I feed mine Fromm, Chicken a la veg... Both my Yorkie and Pug love it and can't seem to stop eating it. It has chicken of very good quality (that would be suitable for humans) and lots of veggies, fruits, and then vitamins and probiotics. There is also Whitefish and Sweet Potato flavour that the dogs love as well! And Duck and Sweet Potato... I think they also just came out with Salmon and veg as well...

| ![]() Summer: I am curious about the raw food diet. Could you tell me more about it? I saw one of the show dog owners on the TV show Show Dog Moms and Dads feed it to her Austrailians. It looked like raw egg with the shell, some raw meat still on the bone and other things. What does a yorkie get on a raw food diet? |

http://www.touchmoon.com/dotters/raw/index.shtml http://www.njboxers.com/faqs.htm http://bestfrisbeedogs.com/diets.html http://www.auntjeni.com/barf.htm It takes me about 3 hours total on Monday's to prepare Dozer's meals for the week. It's a lot of work/time but I really feel that it's best for Dozer. And since I already feed 1 dog a raw diet, it won't be much more hassle once I switch Bailey over ![]() | |

| ![]() I also feed Eukanuba and really hate to switch Lily as she is doing so well on it. At the vet today she weighed 2 1/2 at 10 weeks. I have Authority treats for when she gets the potty training thing correct. So far she has only got 1 treat in about a weeks time. (Kinda bad isn't it.) |

| ![]() PinkMartini - I give you a lot of credit for preparing all of that food and feeding it to Dozer. Honestly, I considered it for Stewie in the future, but I barely can feed myself. I checked out the first two sites and it seems like a lot of work! I'd bet is worth it though. Dozer is such a handsome man ![]()

| ![]() I've had so many problems with Louie's eating..he's sooo picky. I tried the Eukanuba and he was okay (not great) with it until he got diarhea and I gave him chicken and rice..that was the end of dog food for my baby. Now all he wants is chicken. I am trying this week to give him some chicken and solid gold puppy kibble in some of the chicken broth to see if he'll eat. This evening he was picking at it. I can't tell if he just wasn't hungry or if he doesn't like the solid gold either! I'll tell you what though, I hated the way that Eukanuba smelled. It stunk, it's no wonder my little guy didn't want it- I couldn't take the smell of it so I can only imagine what he was smelling. I am so confused about what to feed him. I worry so much that he's not eating enough or the right kind of food- I am exhausted from worrying. Anyone else have a REALLY and I mean REALLY picky eater...can you tell me what worked best for you or is every puppy going to be diff. Should I leave the food for him to try for a while and hopefully if he's hungry enough he'll eat it? I give in a lot and when I don't see him eat I'll just take it away and give him straight chicken?? I think he knows mommy can't take it when he doesn't eat...that little bugger is smart!!! Help...please!

| ![]() Thanks Summer- It was the "bones" part I was confused by because I thought bones were hazardous to dogs, especilly chicken bones. I guess you grind them all up? There was apicture of her dalmation chewing on a chicken hind quarter though and on Showdog Moms and Dads I don't think she ground it all up. Do you grind it up or are they okay with bones? |

| ![]() I feed Eukanuba petite food...They stay down all the time....He learned to sit, laydown, roll over, shake, dance, sit pretty, slite jump all at 12 weeks old with this dog food as a reward. I also feed him twice wet beef mighty dog (1/4 can twice a day) mixed with the petite food. I know all the fuss about wet food but he is not over weight and we brush his teeth every morning and night. He love to have his teeth brushed. I have to brush his before I brush his. I feed him this because this is what he was feed by his breeder. I would like to go away from the wet food but he is gaining normally and not overly. He has been eating the same amount of wet since he was weened (sorry about the spelling) and I haven't increased it and won't. He eats plenty of the Eukanuba that I know he is okay. Also he loves carrots, raddishes, lettuce. Hates celery (mom does too) |
