| ![]() I think leaving the TV or radio on is a great idea. Princess cries if I just go out to the car. She will act like I've been gone for hours. The funny thing is we have planter windows, and she sits there and watches me go to the car, and back up the stairs. She has never been left alone, so I have no idea what she will do if that ever happens. With five childern, and my Husbands office here in our home, we have been very lucky with her. YT is a very strong group. Everyone has their own opinions, and that's just fine. But we all agree on one thing, Big or Small, we all love Yorkies, and that's what makes us all a great Yorkie Family. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I am sorry I offended you, I didn't mention any names, and I don't want to start any debate over the size of Yorkies as you say. First of all I rarely post, I just want to know so that in the future I don't include her weight or ask about it, I don't want to make anyone upset. Another thing you say is, I spend about three quarters of my post on the main question and then tacked the weight question if you re read my original post you will notice I only used the last 2 sentences to ask about her weight. I did mention I live in Korea and my vet speaks very limited english, when I take my pets to see him(Tinkerbell and Chiquito my maltese) he never mentions weight, he never even weights them so I figured I would ask here. Like I said I did feel "some" people were more concern with her weight, and I am not going to go back on that. I read your reply to my question and I think you were just giving advice about anxiety, I didn't get offened over that, it might be just that(anxiety), but I am not an expert. I just figured she was mad with/at me, for leaving her for 3 hours. And even if you had said she was underweight, I did ask, "Is her weight normal?", my point is some people didn't even answer my main concern. As far as what I said in this post about ignoring some people, I'm also going to do just that, and maybe I should've done that and not persued with my questions. I just felt I had to ask. You say others addressed my concerns that my pup seems underweight, that is was my question, Is that really underweight? I love to post pics of Tinkerbell and I even posted pictures of Chiquito, maybe I should stick to that. Everyone loves pics...lol. I just wanted to participate more and find answers to my questions. | |

| ![]() I just joined Yorkie Talk and have found everyone to be extremely nice and helpful. My first Yorkie, Lacy passed away from Cushing's disease at the age of 12. She was 9 ounces at 9 weeks and grew to be almost 4 pounds. The male I have now, K.C. just turned a year on Valentine's day. He was 9 ounces at 8 weeks and has matured just under 4 pounds. I'm getting another girl in a couple of weeks which I have decided to also name Lacy (I figure I will call her that half the time anyway). She is suppose to be really tiny only maturing at 2 and 1/2 pounds. Her mother is only 2 lbs 4 oz and this is her third litter with no C-section. I wouldn't breed a dog this small, but from what the owner is telling me the puppies although very small don't have any low blood sugar or other health problems. Many people do get mad when you say you want a Yorkie under 5 pounds because they usually have more health problems. My female had some low blood sugar issues as a puppy and always had a sensitive stomach, but my male didn't have any puppy problems at all - extremely healthy. Good luck. Are you an American living in Korea or is Korea your home? |

| ![]() Micaela, weight is a difficult. LOL boy is it difficult. A good general rule of thumb is that when you run your hands down your baby's side, you should just be able to feel ribs, they should not be very pronounced, but should not be buried under a wall of fat, either. How many pounds or ounces is relative to the body structure. A heavy boned 8" tall 8" long yorkie will carry more weight than a very fine boned yorkie of the same height and length. If your baby is active, eating well from a good quality dry kibble, has been checked for parasites, his coat is shiny, and you can just barely feel ribs then he is probably the exact weight he should be. Any time you would like to ask a "weight" question or just express concerns about your little one's weight, please feel free to pm me and I will respond as quickly as I can. I might not always have an answer to your question, but I will respond to the best of my ability. Good luck, sweetie. |

| ![]() I really didnt see where you got any negative reponses. When I first brought my girl home she was only 12 ozs at 8 weeks. I got negative responses about her age when I brought her home. I just think on your thread people may have expressed concern just because your baby is so little. I wouldnt take any offence to anything said on that post.

| ![]() Hi Michaela, I just read through both threads and I am sorry you took offense to some of the answers. I don't see where anyone meant anything negative towards you.... only concern for your baby.BTW, she is very cute. You will find that for the most part everyone on here is great and very helpful.Weight is always a sensitive subject but compared to some other threads on weight your thread was very tame.Enjoy your time on YT ![]()
