I just joined Yorkie Talk and have found everyone to be extremely nice and helpful. My first Yorkie, Lacy passed away from Cushing's disease at the age of 12. She was 9 ounces at 9 weeks and grew to be almost 4 pounds. The male I have now, K.C. just turned a year on Valentine's day. He was 9 ounces at 8 weeks and has matured just under 4 pounds. I'm getting another girl in a couple of weeks which I have decided to also name Lacy (I figure I will call her that half the time anyway). She is suppose to be really tiny only maturing at 2 and 1/2 pounds. Her mother is only 2 lbs 4 oz and this is her third litter with no C-section. I wouldn't breed a dog this small, but from what the owner is telling me the puppies although very small don't have any low blood sugar or other health problems. Many people do get mad when you say you want a Yorkie under 5 pounds because they usually have more health problems. My female had some low blood sugar issues as a puppy and always had a sensitive stomach, but my male didn't have any puppy problems at all - extremely healthy. Good luck.
