| my baby is sick!!please help. Three days ago my puppy started diarrea, I am going to bring him to the vet tommorrow. Rocky is 10 months old and picks up everything around the house from slippers to the converter. I swear he is a chewing machine, he has toys to chew , but he is always bitting everything in site, I am afraid he may have digested something. I feed him chicken which he ate but has not touched his dog food. What can i do? What can I expect from the vet. His spirts are good, but his behind is soar from all the diarrea. He did vomit a little but not for a day and ahalf. please help...

| I'm glad you are going to the vet tomorrow. That's the best thing to do. In the meantime, I would get some Nutrical (it's high calorie/high glucose supplement) to make sure he doesn't get hypoglycemic- give it about 3 times a day if he's not eating well and make sure he's drinking enough. A little boiled chicken is good. When my dogs had diarrhea, I boiled some chicken, then used the broth to make rice and just made them some chicken and rice. They love it. I have some in the freezer for those occasions. The main thing is to make sure he isn't dehydrated even if you have to syringe-feed him water. Good luck, keep us updated!

| When Chachi had diahrea recently first the vett tried to fast him for a little bit. When that didnt work he put him on meds and it took about two days for the medicine to get into his system and his poo to firm up. He told me I could feed him chicken and rice and cottage cheese. I also gave him nutrical when he was fasting but my vet told me not to give that to him once he was eating.

| I've read that plain canned pumpkin is really good for doggy diarrhea. Has anyone else read anything about that? Julie |

| I just went through that with my Emilee. The Vet had me feed her ID food and after 2 servings it was back to "log" form. That was on Saturday, today, Monday she is back to normal, but just a little soft.
