I sure hope coco gets to feeling better soon. I have always heard that Yellow is bile caused by empty stomach. I would try the rice and chicken.

Two of my babies went through this last November. I know how it feels like. My babies are siblings...from the same litter...Ceasar got sick first...throwing up the bright yellow thick substance which I later found out to be bile acid...he seemed to be fine the first day...throwing up but still active. On that night though he started getting sick every hour...and then every half hour...we rushed him to the emergency...they gave him IV right away because he was so dehydrated...did blood works...amylase & lipase were so elevated...they did x-rays to rule out foreign body obstruction...they showed us the x-rays and there seemed to be a dark portion in the small intestines..but they were not 100% sure...so they did the barrium...the fluid was not passing through...they did an exploratory surgery...there was no foreign body inside but they said his small intestine was so inflamed that nothing could pass through it...they were so baffled that it happened...Our poor Ceasar had to go through that and my husband and I were so stressed going through that.. Ceasar was still trying to get strong in the animal hospital when Cleo started getting sick. The same thing that Ceasar went through...So we didn't wait...we took her in right away...they did the same thing...x-rays...but I think that because we brought her in right away...her intestines didn't get the chance to get so inflamed like Ceasar's...they gave antibiotics, someting to calm her tummy, and IV fluids. She got better right away. That was a scare for us. The vets that took care of them can't pinpoint what could have caused that. They suggested that they be put in a low fat diet and they get treats that don't have high fat contents...that we don't use anything in the house that could be considered toxic like air fresheners, cleaning solutions, toys that have paints. GOD...it was really scary. BUT...every incident is different from another...so my best advise is to take it to the vet as soon as you can...they are still the best people that could take care of them. Prayers to COCO and I hope she'll be fine.

when my girl had an upset tummy we gave her broiled chicken with pepno( the pink medicne) and a crushed tums, it made her feel better the next day

I have literature on hypoglycemia that says that vomiting on an empty stomach (clear liquid, bile or saliva, or foaming at the mouth) are all signs of hypoglycemia. My yorkies vomit up yellow from time to time, but it always stops after I give them Nutrical or Nutristat. It may be that she's not eating regularly, say, every 3 to 4 hours minimum. I would give her Nutrical first thing in the morning, then last thing before going to bed at night, and of course, any time she vomits. I would also put a half teaspoon of corn syrup in her water so that she gets a bit of nourishment each time she drinks.

Make sure your vet rules out Canine Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis. It is very common in Yorkies.

Thanks for all of the warm and supportive responses. Coco did well all of yesterday, no throwing up and I fed her every 3-4 hours. She did great. Even pooped twice last night within an hour of each other. She threw up at 5 am this morning but it's baffling because she's so active still, no change in her at all. I've talked to many people offline, and they said it's probably just an upset tummy and that it should pass. I will be looking for a new vet for her out in my city today. Thanks

Yea it's a big relief. She was probably just clearing her tummy of something. I'm going to keep an eye on her today and see if her stomach feels better. I was told to give her a lick of pepto bismol, is that right? Has anyone else given their baby pepto before?

I have, both of mine , in fact Maddy had a upset tummy last week and within a day or two she was better.... I would call the vey over the phone for a dosage but Maddy weighs 5.8lbs (4 1/2 mths) and they said 1 ml...... good luck!

aww sorry i caught this thread late, but im glad shes feeling better. Sir has had puke episodes and i always freak out like a mad woman, but thats the joy of owning a yorkie i guess my vet said a little bit of pepto is ok, so i give him a a teeny peice of the chewable tablets or just let it disolve in his water. and the chicken and rice is by far the best. not only do they looove it, but it soothes their bellies with the quickness. Give her some kisses and a hugs for me! <3<3

Anyway, when mine get a tummy upset it is usually because I give them too many choices. A high quality dogfood and a small treat is plenty, but they look me in the eye with that pitiful look and sure enough, too many treats or too much variety, like peeled apple and lamb/rice treats and Cheerios. You get the idea. The other time they have had tummy problems have been when they get into something they should not, like a lizard or houseplant. I learned the hard way to get rid of Sago palms, poison to yorkies! So, check around the house for anything these curious little furbabies can eat and make sure toys are not in need of tossing. I notice, too, my little one seems to be more sensitive to a tummy problem, Chloe seems less likely to get an upset so perhaps size enters into the issue as well. I'm sorry you baby has been sick.

Good suggestion! Not owning a Yorkie as yet...you'll have to give me the "boiled children" recipe for the future....whodathunk!
