| ![]() Keep in mind that even though they may be cute, squirrels are rodents, and rodents are natural prey for yorkies. Also, keep your yorkies away from the squirrels as they can be disease carriers. I have a maple tree in my front yard with a squirrel nest up top, and if Sophie sees a squirrel, all hell breaks lose. If Sophie is outside, even in our front yard which is enclosed and wrought-iron gated, she is never off the leash as we live in an urban residential area. |

| ![]() thanks to everyone who replied, I feel better that Peanut Butter is not the only one going nuts over squirrels (no pun intended). I guess my answer to the whole issue is to never let her off the leash since she has no respect for the roadway. We just love her to bits. My husband is in a wheelchair (spinal cord) accident and she loves riding on his lap. She thinks she is a queen. Peanut Butter's Mom |

| ![]() I would love the answer to that question. Gracie goes nuts when she sees the neighborhood cat. I mean nuts! She barks, squeals, yelps, runs around circles, bats the windows with her paws, and runs from window to window and may the good Lord protect anyone who gets in her way when she is in the cat mode... Our sweet Sammie (maltese) has not learned yet not to mess with Gracie when she is in the mode. Poor little guy.

| ![]() You should start worrying when your Yorkie shows no interest in squirrels. This is just a sign of a Yorkie being a Yorkie. ![]() |
