| how often does everyone use a harness/leash... with an indoor yorkie pup? i know the harness is better than a collar so i was looking into getting one and snickers is new to our family and found myself wondering exactly how often i would even be using it (right now we have a color and leash for training class only) i found one i really thought was cute and can get a matching leash for it but before i spend the money i thought i would get a few opinions... Thanks |

| We have a harness for Miko for whenever we take him on walks or to the store or anywhere outside the home...Miko is also an indoor doggie Harnesses are better for these little guys than collars because collars can damage their tracheas.

| My friend's yorkie uses collar but her shih tzu uses harness.. I like harness better. The shih Tzu wears it all the time.. actually.. but when she comes to stay with me, I usually takes it off until right before we go for walk... She seems to be comfortable with harness all the time..

| Vivi wears a harness when we go out for walks. If we are going out and I know I will be holding her...she wears a pretty collar. I just ordered a beautiful harness and leash from Shana and am looking forward to recieving it. She will not walk if I put a collar and leash on her so I switched to a harness and now she loves to go for walks. In the house she doesn't wear anything...I am always concerned she will get it caught on something and strangle herself. When she was a puppy that happened to another Yorkie puppy in my town and I have been very careful about it ever since.

| Princess has pretty little collar's, but never has a lead on them. When we go out it's always a harness. She needs it when she's in her car seat too. She loves to go for walks, and I take her every where I go. So I would say we use the harness all the time.

| I use a collar and leash for early training but as soon as they are old enough to be pretty well trained I like to switch to a harness and leash. It is safer around the body away from the neck, as long as you think you still have good control with it, I say buy the cute one!

| Joey wears a collar with tags at all times. I put on his harness and leash anytime we leave the house - for walks, going to obedience, to the vet, to the park, etc.

| bunjee has a couple collars and a couple harnesses too. one of the collars is for training purposes only. the other collar he has on nearly all the time, indoors and out. it's actually a cat collar with bells that i use to hold his id tags. he wears it in the condo so that i can hear where he is. and since it's an elastic cat collar, it'll stretch and he can actually get out of it if it got caught on anything. he usually only has the harnass on when we go outside. |

| That's a real good idea! I never thought about using a cat collar before..it would be pretty safe since it stretches. I like your 'bells' idea too...I'll have to try that!

| My yorkie, Ted, needs a harness for long walks because he tends to pull on the leash and chokes himself. I use his collar/lead any time I walk him outside. I don't keep his collar on when he's in the house because it causes his fur to matt around his neck. My favorite collars are LUPINE. They have lifetime guarentees if they ever get damaged or chewed. They have small dog and large dog collars along with leashes and harnesses to match! You can see them here... http://www.gooddogexpress.com/Mercha...tegory_Code=CL

| Starr wears a collar always only to carry here info. I do not use her collar for anything else. Everytime we get in the car or go for a walk a harness goes on. |
