| Hyper Is not the Word I can so relate I got a yorkie for my B-Day a few years ago and she was so hyper that we thought she was going to have a heart attack. She never slowed her pace it was always full speed ahead. Non stop!!!!! You could barely even pet her. My mom was visiting one day and she said she thought I should take Reesy to the Vet and make sure she was ok. I did and he suggested half of a half benadryl. Just so she could calm down and rest. I am glad to hear that mine wasn't the only one. I had never heard of them being like that. Last edited by Khristy; 02-16-2006 at 12:30 PM. Reason: Just because I can not spell today!!! |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | My two girls were like that when they were littler but as they have grown up they have really slowed down, now instead of being crazy all the time, it is just sometimes...I think they tend to slow down a little with age!! Looking back I miss some of those crazy days....

| Cali bites toes too!!! She is so crazy, i can never let her out of my sight or else shes into some kind of trouble. Today she was biting my sock and wouldnt let go so i just went about making my lunch and she just dragged across the kitchen floor holding onto my sock (while it was on my foot!) while i walked around. It was actually pretty funny. And she pounces at everything!!! Even when i'm reading and not expecting it she will pounce onto my lap and scare the bajeezers out of me! You've got to love them. She most definatly makes me laugh |

| I think all Yorkies I have met, even in older age, were spunky in some ways. Of course mine was a ball of energy as a puppy, but even at 5 years old she is constantly keeping an eye on everything... the backyard, all the animals in the house, all the humans, the street out front. Thats just a typical terrier.

| Mac is super hyper. Especially at 1:00 am when most people are trying to sleep(ie. ME). Mellie is much calmer but she has this thing about toes, in perticular MY toes. If I don't have socks on she will track them down do the little nip thing and then lick them to death.

| Wosie is a terror!! Poor Dreama, she gets to suffer the most over the hyperactivity of my 8 month old Wosie. Wosie NEVER stops until she drops to sleep, and when she DOES sleep, she sleeps HARD. It's kinda funny! I have a lot more patience with her exuberance than my hubby.

| My girls are really hyper too, I like when they start getting really hyper about 2 hours before bedtime bc that means that they will crash when it is time to go to bed.

| Miko is soooo hyper!!! He will be 2 yrs old in April and he has not slowed down at all either Every single morning and every single evening he runs laps and laps and laps around the house at the speed of lightning with a stuffed animal or a toy in his mouth. He looves to play fetch, and when my husband and I get home from being out whether it's been 5 minutes or 2 hrs, he is crazy for at least 15 minutes He'll jump up all over us trying to give us kisses and trying to get me to run with him. LOL I love it!!! When he's not hyper, he's really, really sweet and calm as can be, you would never think he's that crazy, energetic doggie that was just running through the house like a madman. Hehe

| I was wondering the same thing! I took my Dori to the vet today, and she was soooo crazy! She was running in circles, jumping, panting, shaking (from excitement) and she would not calm down! It was embarrassing! I know they thought my dog was psycho! She is not like that at home! Oh well, I guess that is just a breed trait! |
