| Aggressive Dogs!!!! I know im not onlin that much anymore, but maybe you guys can help me... or at least listen to my rant. My fiance told me an interesting story a couple days ago about a couple of dogs that tried to attack toby when he took toby out to potty. These dogs were on leashes, BUT they were large dogs so they were so strong that the lady could hardly hold them. Well, i take toby out this morning and low and behold guess what?! this same woman is out with her dogs. So these dogs start barking and growling aggressively (the fur on their backs stood on end, which means they meant buissness) and they totally sounded like they were going to rip toby to peices!... and they were pulling and yanking on teh leashes so hard that this woman almost lost her grip several times. I went to the apartment manager (shes really nice...) and i talked to her about it and she said they are aware that the woman has no control and that she cant give me any more information on what they are doing about it because it involves the womans personal information. So they are aware and they are going to do something, but i dont know what. So in the meantime i asked her if i should call animal control, she slipped me the womans apartment number (on the down low... she wasnt even supposed to do THAT) so i call animal control and i finally get to talk to a real person. Well guess what!!! THEY CAN NOT DO A DAMN THING UNTIL THAT WOMANS DOGS ATTACK A PERSON OR MY DOG. I expressed my frustration about the situation and i amost started to cry just from sheer frustration at being barred. I feel like i have NO RIGHTS. So i said (to this poor woman on the phone) "so what you are telling me is that those dogs have to kill my dog or bite me before you do your jobs?!!!" <-- i did feel bad after the fact, but cmon.... seriously Okay, so they have "nuisance laws" that have penalties if a dog barks to much, but if a dog is openly AGGRESSIVE they can not do a damn thing. And their whole reasoning was that it was "my word against hers", exscuse me? Animal control should get their butts out here and i will give them a demonstration of how aggressive these dogs are, just take them out of the house for two seconds and walk them to the grass where another dog might be and they go NUTS. Also, as these animals were walking away: this guy was coming out of his garage and the dogs went off on him too, so it is not just animals it is also people! I just talked to the apartment manager and she was going to go the same rout i was, but animal control told her the same thing! Socal? do you have any suggestions? |

| thanks for the pm socal.... if i run into her again i think i might just take your advice does anyone else have any advice? ideas?...... the thing is: she lives in an apartment ALL THE WAY ACROSS the complex, so there is no reason why she should be over near our apartment or the potty area on our side anyways... if she stuck to her side i wouldnt care... but why in the hell does she come over on our side of the complex? (just so everyone knows, our apartment complex runs roughly the size of two or three medium sized blocks... so it is a relatively large complex and she lives on teh oTHER side of it, as far as she can possible live, from our place.... |

I do have her apartment number, i dont really want to walk to her door and deliver it, but if i wasted a stamp and put it in the mail???? i dunno.... she isnt very nice anyways, probably wouldnt help at all.... there has got to be a reason that her dogs act that way, dogs that are loved and well cared for do not act that way, i dont know if she made them agressive on purpose that would just be sad... | |

Ok, so it's your word against hers right? Get a video of the situation! If they are agressive towards animals and people, don't bring your baby out but have a video camera ready. Most digital cameras has video setting. Bring it with you EVERY TIME you go out and you'll have proof to send to Animal Control. Good luck with your situation. Stay safe.
