| Babysitting a non-neutered male yorkie... Hi All, As you may know, I'm the proud owner of Stomper! He is now 1 year and 3 months old. He is fully potty trained - he does "lift" his leg outside when going potty. He was neutered at 4 months old. We are going to babysit a non neutered male dog for 10 days. He is also potty trained to go outside but he has made a few mistakes at other peoples houses... My question is this. Currently Stomper hangs out with a female dog at our house every day while I'm at work. She is spayed by the way! Now with this third dog coming around for the 10 days...will he most likely pee all over my house since he will have the scents of two other dogs??!!! This is starting to worry me a bit. Please advise. Anything I can do to prepare for this let me know!

I think he will mark alot. I hope not,but being an intact male...... Maybe you can put a belly band round him if he does. How nice of you to keep him so long. Where do I sign up ? LOL

I really do hope I'm wrong but I think he will mark in the house. I'd have belly band ready in case. But, let's think more on the positive side that he'll be a good boy & do all his marking outside.

For your peace of mind, I suggest you confine them temporarily in one room so as not to mess up your entire house. Good luck!

The owner has not said anything...I can tell she is a little worried he might make a mistake in the house.

i had a friend over with her shih tzu (a rescue dog). he's 2 yrs and a few months old and neutered about 6 months ago. he did mark indoors and outdoors. he marked on furniture in the lobby when he arrived, he pee'd over my puppy's stains on the potty pad, and he tried to mark me but my friend stopped him before he did!!! just to be safe, when they were over, we kepted the both of them in the tiled area to play. not sure if this behavior is because he's a rescue. since he's neutered now, the marking is probably out of habit from when he wasn't neutered. but just to be safe for you and your home, i'd strong recommend that you keep the new doggie confined in an easy to clean area just in case.
