Prayers please! Not sure if this is the right place to post this! Gage goes in today to be altered. Although I've had 2 yorkies altered in the past and they were fine, I've just read too many terrible stories here lately where people have lost their precious babies during or after a surgical procedure. I'm getting ready to take him in just a few but wanted to post this before I left. I'll be a nervous wreck (and will probably be here for support until I get the news surgery is over and he's okay - so much for work today!). Could you please remember him in your thoughts and prayers today? And his worried "mommy"? I'll post an update when I hear from the vet. Thank you all! Suzi

I'm sure everything will be just fine. It is easy to get worked up when this is your baby, but don't worry too much. Let us know how everything goes.

Thank you all! For you kind words and thoughts. I've just returned to my office after dropping Gage off at the vet. They said I could call anytime after 3:00 today to check on him, unless they call me first. He will have to stay overnight for observation (same as my other 2 in the past). And I don't know if I ever posted this before but when we got Gage, he had REALLY thin hair. When the vet checked him out then, he felt the hair loss could be attributed to the environment he was living in before I "rescued" him and the stress he was under and wanted to hold off on any expensive tests (we weren't sure then if we were even going to be able to keep him - thus the delay in getting him altered). Well, after seeing him again today, 6 months later, he thinks it could be either his thyroid or a testicular tumor He is going to check his thyroid to make sure all is okay with that (I'll get the results when we go back next week for follow-up) and he said if it was a tumor, having him altered would fix that problem. So now I have something else to worry about! Thank you all for your support. I'll post updates as I know more from the vet. Suzi
