I can't wait for pictures. Yes I did mean down the grout lines. It does not go under the tile or soak into the grout. I usually use a towel or washrag to sop it up. When I clean the grout, I use a scrub-brush, it seems just as clean as the day I moved in. The laminate (to me) is like carpet, it hides the stain, but if you have ever lifted carpet - YUCK! |
I have laminate throughout my house,& i wouldnt change it for anything :) Its very hardy....much better than thr real hardwood that scratches very easily  It doesnt stain, like the real kind either  I love it :aimeeyork |

To complicate things even further, they now have Marmoleum available. I've seen it featured on home decorating shows!! This is a great thread. WE have carpet now and I want to replace it. I wasnt sure what was best considering we now have a pet. This thread has given alot of great info!! |

Not getting the tile Well, we are not getting the tile after all. The estimate was over our budget. My living room is small. 15x16 and I am still in shock at what they wanted to do it. So looks like we will be getting congoleum. The estimate on that was reasonable for some that looks like wood. All the floor people strongly advised us not to get laminated wood with dogs. So that was out almost from the beginning. the almost to the store agreed with what some of you guys said about it buckling. |
Do you think, perhaps, you could get other quotes from other companies? Are can you DIY? I am hoping we can get rid of this carpet soon. I guess, after reading this thread, I've narrowed down my choices to ceramic tile and hardwood. Decisions! Decisions! |
I have had laminate all thru my house up and down except kitchen and stairs for 5years now. The kitchen did have laminate but Pippa as a pup pee'd so much it warped and i have replaced with ceramic tiles so if she pees it just mops up. I have had no problem with scratches or slipping from Pippa but my lab Jake does slip on the odd occaision that he decides to try and run indoors :D maybe to do with his sheer size?????? |
I have all marble tiles, it's called Parquet, don't know the English or if that is the English for it, LOL! Anyway, it's due to the heat here in the summer, it helps keep the place cooler. Its cemented to the floor, so if Mitzi pees it's all good. Not that I like her peeing, lol! I have a mop and bucket on standby at all times until she stops having "accidents". :D |

Im not sure with accideents but my mother in law has that laminated flooring and sometimes were washer over flows and it has ruined the floor by the washer. Its only happened 3-4 times i think but thats alot of water so i think it would be ok if their was a small accident! Im thinking about putting it in my dining room. :D Luckily my husband knows how to do all that stuff so it\'s just going to cost us the material! |
