| ![]() Hello, It’s been some time since I’ve been on here. Happy to know this site is still active. Wondering if any of the “old timers” are still here. I got a little girl 2 weeks ago. She is 9 months old. ( my avitar is a picture of my last little girl that I lost last October. She was 14 y/o ) Apparently her ears were up at one point but now they are a bit floppy. The breeder said they recently started doing that so she shaved a bit more hair off of her ears. Wondering if she is too old to have her ears taped at this point.

| ![]() I had all kinds of fosters - dozens over the years ... so this experience isn't yorkie specific, but ... at 9 months, all my dogs had their " final " ear position ... up, down, or somewhere in between. We currently have a 6 month old with an " in-between" type ... we call them mood meter ears... most adorable thing ever |

| ![]() I think they are pretty much at what they are going to be at. Generally it’s within the first few months that taping the ears work. I have heard of them going down around 6 months for teething and back up but 9 months is way past that. With Joey his were down at 9 weeks when we got him but he was on adult diet food and I don’t know if getting him on a good puppy food helped or not but after a week with us up they went. When we got Penny at 8 months old she had one up and one down but after a month or two the floppy one went down and never came back up. Ollie has ears that are just too heavy to have ever stood. I probably could have got Dixie’s to stand with taping because she has tiny ears but just never wanted to do it.

All of the Yorkies I’ve had, have all had ears that stood straight up. This is the first one that doesn’t. 😕 Thanks for responding.

I had one that I swore her one ear was never going up and one day, it was straight up! I don't recall her exact age, but I am fairly certain she was somewhere around 7 or 8 months.

My little girl will be 10 months old the 23rd. Hoping they perk up but not thinking they will. Love her just the same.😊 Apparently according to the breeder, her ears were up at one point.

Keep us posted! I would love to hear the outcome. I swear mine was around that age and hers were up as a young puppy then one went down and back up later. She was a foster and it was years ago, so I don't recall exact age.
