| When I had my girls when ever I went out shopping I would buy each one a toy or a chewy. I taught them how to go through the bags until they found their things. That opened a bag of worms, big mistake because there were times I came home from work with WORK in a bag and toss it on the sofa, work I would do from my home computer. All 3 tore the bag apart and ran off with my floppy disk. When I adopted this kid I never allowed him to snoop in bags, also don't buy him toys or chews every time I go shopping. I have 2 bags of new toys hidden in a closed off room. If I do buy a new toy I never give it to him as soon as I come home. He's spoiled enough, you do one thing ONCE and they never forget, they expect it lol.

| They rate right there with elephants as far as memory is concerned. Dexter follows me around the house. He knows when I’m up to something especially if he hears my keys. Any of my friends could hijack him if he thought they were taking him on a car ride. |

| Bailey has a basket full of toys. She takes out what she wants and occasionally we have to go around the house and pick them up. Then she starts all over again. lol

| The part I love is when Dexter has to have a certain toy and we go in and sort through them while I make them squeaky and he decides yep that’s the one I want. |

Last year I had to kennel Cody for 3 days. In calling around kennels said beds, toys, blankets may not be turned due to being lost. When I adopted Cody almost 10 years ago he came with a shopping bag of his stuff (he was a surrender) in that bag was a bed. That bed was stored in a room I use for storage and always kept closed. The bed was never used in my house. I kept it in case I ran into someone that needed it. When ever I bought him a new bed and put it on the floor, my bed, of the sofa, he just claimed it, he never sniffed it out, just jumped in it. When I had to kennel him I didn't want to chance losing one of his good beds, so I took that bed out, put it on the sofa so he could use it for the few days before I took it and him to the kennel. I put his old bed on the end of sofa, he creeps towards, sniffs it, his German Shepard size ears flatten against his head and he backs away from it with a scared look on his face, damn, he remembered that bed from his previous owner. Now he's in a corner coward down. I take that bed, call him to come and throw that bed in the outside trash pail to show him it's GONE. I was absolutely amazed that the prev. owners house scent was still in that bed after 10 years and he sniffed and remembered it and wasn't happy. about it. Dogs never forget, I witnessed that. Here is a photo of the kennel he stayed at for 3 days, all kennels are where check in and out staff is, so they are never alone, there are ppl there all day.

| Probably about 30 in the toy box and 10-15 assorted laying in the floor at any one time.
