| Some simply don't stand up. I have seen many people float ideas such as shaving the hair off, etc. Not sure those things work. Many have floppy ears up until 9 mos or even longer. It often is related to the teething process. I had one with one ear up and one ear down....suddenly at 10 mos, her ear stood up. They are adorable pups with erect OR floppy ears!

| Thank you for your reply. My Yorkie certainly is teething now and loosing teeth. I hope when all the new teeth are in, her ears will stand up. Of course, she is very beautiful and I love her with ears up or down! |

| More then likely at this point they won’t and it’s to late to do anything other then shaving the hair. When people tape them up it’s done when they are young puppies like 12 weeks old.

| Shave hair off ears. Hair is weight. Shaving the hair off isn't a guarantee they will get erect but it's worth a try. I had 3 with floppy ears, 2 with erect ears.

| My baby’s ears were taped while she was with the breeder, but the litter mates pulled off all the tape from each other. Shaving her ears has been very difficult because she is sooooo uncooperative! |

| Taping the ears is not advised. Shaving these lil wild child ears is difficult, take ger to a groomer for that, they are experienced and know how to handle wild puppies.

| Did they ever stand up on their own? If they stood up for a bit on their own and then went down it could just be teething but if they didn’t stand up they probably won’t. All but one of mine has floppy ears because I don’t believe in tapeing their ears I just let them do what they are going to do. My one boys were down when I got him at 9 weeks but once I got him on a puppy food they went up and stayed up. When I got Penny at 8 months one was up and one was down and after a while the one that was up went down and never went back up. The others just always had floppy. The only issue with floppy ears is they don’t get the same amount of air circulation so you need to keep the ear canal as hair free as possible and whenever they get wet like a bath or swimming you need to clean their ears with an ear cleaner that has a drying agent in it.

| I have not heard of a breeder taping puppies' ears. I personally would not bother.

| Our pup’s ears did stand up when she was around 12 weeks but only for a week. So, hopefully, they will stand up when she stops teething. Thank you everyone who has responded to my original posting. |
