| What type of leash do you use? Had a horrifying experience today. Took Dexter with me to a strip mall. He acted like he wanted to get out. So, I let him out thinking he might need to go potty. He got slack in the leash and it came undone and off he ran until, I said, let’s go bye bye. He stopped at a strange car and acted like, put me in here. 🙄 Needless to say, this has happened before. The leash I use is similar to this one. Where the clasp bends inward. https://www.zoronmfg.com/item/spring-snaps/dog-lead-swivel-snap-nickel-plated/item-1333?gclid=Cj0KCQjw2NyFBhDoARIsAMtHtZ5DBxf01kCDjNK KzPiBiAK6fl_ou58enGqiYiYcomsut0xpRhuCnEsaAnp7EALw_ wcB Would this be a better alternative with the sliding pin? https://www.chewy.com/frisco-solid-nylon-dog-leash/dp/160846 What a nightmare! | Yikes. Glad nothing bad happened. I use leashes with the clasp like you posted from chewy.

| OMG what a horrifying experence that was. Thank GOD he stopped for you. Poor lil guy was terrorized. For all the years I have had dogs, I have always used the one in the Chewy link, never, ever had leash come off. I don't believe these leashes come in a weight, they do come in 4 foot and 6 foot lengths, the leashes I use are 5/8" in width, but I have only had bigger pups, 9 lbs and over. They do sell thinner ones for 5 lbs and under.

| So scary! A similar leash from Ruffwear was just recalled for a similar reason. I don't like trigger snaps either. Check out Lucy & Co: https://www.lucyand.co/collections/leashes They have the locking carabiners and they are sooo nice. I do have a code for them LCACTIONJAX15 but they are genuinely such good quality. My other fav leashes are https://www.hootandco.com they are buttery soft and waterproof.

| How awful. I had a leash one time that came unhooked. It was scary but luckily I caught my pup then threw the leash away. My other leashes have not acted up. Glad things ended okay for you both.

| I should have tossed it the first time it happened. I went and got one with a retractable pin this morning. My dog has a run like someone left the gate open if he’s not on a leash. I have a retractable leash I use when I’m walking him and a short leash if, we are going somewhere in the car. A few times he broke away when I had the short leash out but, he runs straight for the car when that happened. |

| I don’t give him a lot of lead with the retractable one especially if, we walk out of the yard. It’s a nice German made leash. I can’t recall but, it might have been made for bigger dogs. That’s ok though, Dexter thinks he’s a bull dog if anything catches his attention around our yard etc. I couldn’t get your link to ever open 🙄 |

| Lol I just meant that’s the brand. I match the collars and leashes so each dog has a million all different styles lol.

| That's too funny about the pink. Ha. Though my husband will walk my Yorkies on a pink leash but it took him years. (But they are girls not Dexter.)
