Can a Home Groomer Help?????


On the 'done at home, Butt Trim': How much area of hair does one take? Are scissors or small shaver better to use for this? How often does one need to repeat this?

I shave my pups butts in between groomings. I use a little peanut shaver. I also pluck my pups ears myself.

I do the width of the tail, if they are still getting dirty, I remove a bit more. I use scissors and remove most tummy hair to a 1/2 to 1 inch in length, following the rib cage to the inside of the hind legs to the knee. Leave a pee strand on males and females to give the urine a path to follow. How often: as needed.

I never used a shaver, I was afraid of razor burn, I used just a scissor, cut the hair short as needed. Check the butt area often, if poop is getting caught in hair its time for trimming.

I have never given them razor burn. It’s very easy to use the new electric shavers and they are very safe.
