| And hot cars can kill them. Caution with dogs traveling in your car in summer.

| Oh my gosh the poor baby. I'm so protective of my Sir Rosco when I take him outside that I'm sure that more than a few people probably think I'm nuts but there are so many viruses and bacterium around that just walking around outside can cause them harm or worse kill them! |

| A good rule of thumb is if the pavement is too hot for your hand it's too hot for your dogs' pads. AMEN!!! Thank you, Matese!!! |

| Before we moved to Florida, we would bring the kids down to vacation near the theme parks every few years. I will never forget one trip when we had our little yorkie poo brothers with us...Elmo and Max. That summer they had an infestation of the largest grasshoppers that I had ever seen. When we were walking our dogs in the grass, Elmo spotted a huge green grasshopper on the driveway. He darted over, and grabbed it in his mouth, then spit it out under a plant in the flower bed. The grasshopper leaped right back onto the driveway...and Elmo "rescued" him from the hot pavement again! It was one of the funniest things that we had ever seen, and my adult kids still remember it.
