| It depends on your scale. Both my bathroom scale and my vet's scale will give decimal fractions of pounds, for example instead of 10 pounds and 8 ounces, it will tell me 10.5 pounds. At the vet's there is a conversion for fractions of a pound to ounces. I don't worry about converting to ounces, because I'm just keeping track of Bon Bon's weight over time. |

| Taylor, I use a baby scale. The numbers always match up with the baby scale at the vet's office, so I believe it is accurate within ounces. This is the one I use: https://www.target.com/p/salter-elec...e/-/A-10019461 I don't recall paying anywhere near that much for it! Look around for a better price. Use it on a level hard surface, ideally the same spot for consistency.

| I use a regular six inch diameter flat top approx kitchen scale, put a larger hard tray on the scale, zero it and it works well. Only hazard is that he might fall off. I always do it with a helper to steady the tray and dog. It is very important to do it with a helper as dogs can get wiggly. Also put the scale on the floor so nothing can happen if he falls. Good idea to have a harness and leash on for further safety. A non slip mat on the tray also makes life safer and easier. I know this may scare some, but it works for me with precautions mentioned above. I am sure that a vet would be happy to weigh the pet when needed. | That baby scale looks like what my vet has in the exam rooms for the small animals, but it weighs in KG and pounds. I'm still looking for the name of what my vet has lol.

| We still use a big digital food scale for our little guy at 7 months. LOL But you can always strap him into a harness or carrier and use a hanging luggage scale then subtract the weight of the bag/carrier. it is much cheaper, |
