It depends on your scale. Both my bathroom scale and my vet's scale will give decimal fractions of pounds, for example instead of 10 pounds and 8 ounces, it will tell me 10.5 pounds. At the vet's there is a conversion for fractions of a pound to ounces. I don't worry about converting to ounces, because I'm just keeping track of Bon Bon's weight over time.
