| HI!!! I'm new to the site too, and trust me If you want to find out about yorkies, I mean anything about yorkies, you've come to the right place! This family really cares about thier babies. I can tell you that yorkies don't shed, their hair is like ours, they need constant attention and love, and I believe liver shunt and tracheal problems are some things to watch for. I'm sure you'll get lots of answers here. Lori |

| I'm too new of a Yorkie owner to be able to tell you a whole lot. I'm still working on potty training, but so far she is doing VERY well.. They are very lovable dogs and require a lot of love and attention... You have to watch for hypoglycemia & liver shunt. I have never looked back from the moment I got my baby.. It's been almost a month now... Here's Miss Daisy Mae |

| Welcome to YT. You have your work cut out for you-the breeds you mention are SO different but, of course, we love da Yorkies. They do have their issues-house-training and health problems to name a few. Do a LOT of research so that when you make your choice, you are a happy pet owner. I have mostly the Biewers or Partis so my pics would not help much. There are pics in my gallery so check them out.. |

| read all you can about yorkies and then decide all breeds have good and bad points and all have some health problems. yorkies do not shed but do require brushing and trimming the hair espically around the private parts. if you want a male puppy i have one for sale he is 8 weeks old and should be 4-5 lbs full grown they do not eat much at all but love treats and are a real joy to have around |

| Welcome to YorkieTalk! You can start off by reading the Frequently Asked Questions thread if you haven't already: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6016 Yorkies are very small, the standard size is 4 to 7 pounds generally, so it doesn't cost too much to feed them. However, if you start spoiling them like Yorkie parents around here do, then it can get a bit expensive with clothes, jewelry, toys, doggy beds and the like. A Yorkie's temperament will vary, but overall most are pretty good. The can be housetrained fairly easily, it takes between a few weeks to six months for most, it just varies on what style of training you utilize. That is very wise of you to do your research before getting a dog. Good luck in your search! YorkieTalk also has a sister site for Chihuahuas at http://www.chihuahuatalk.com |

| I'm so glad you are doing your homework on different breeds! Welcome to YT! Yorkies are delightful! They are difficult to potty train, do not shed, cost very little to feed, need a lot of attention, and daily brushing and combing is a must! Some owners keep their yorkies in a puppy cut which is easier to manage, but still needs combing everyday. I think two yorkies do better than one, since they have a playmate, but that is just MHO. Good luck on your new dog whatever breed you decide on! |

| Hi and Welcome, I have always in the past had large dogs, but since getting my yorkie Penny I have fallen in love with the small dog..... They are the most fun, most affectionate, most cuddly animal ive ever know. They do require alot of attention and time.. Grooming takes alot more time, and the expense of clothing.. But when it all comes down to yorkies, they are worth every penny we spend and every hour we spend.. They give back so much more than we give them.. Hope you find the dog you want and have a lifetime of enjoyment with that dog.. Good luck |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | welcome to yorkie talk! I have a 9 month old yorkie female named Kloey, and she is just like my baby, her needs are not high maintenance. I would say, I bathe her once a week, I groom her myself 1X a month, they have long think hair that needs brushed at least once a day or it may get matted, they can be hard to potty train if your not consecutive with them, they are very entergetic, I take Kloey on a walk a day, usually 15 -30 minutes, they are good with other animals (not so good w/ are cat), she sleeps in a crate, I may spend $35-100 a month, just depends on what I want to get for her, they don't eat a lot, most of all there wonderful lap dogs, they love attention and affection, and my girl is just the sweetest baby girl. And I'm sure all Yorkies are different so I'm going by what my Yorkie is like. |

| Welcome to YT I am a new Yorkie owner too. I got George from a breeder in August of last year, and my life has never been the same since.....and I mean that in the best way possible. He is the sweetest boy in the world. He wasn't difficult to house train maybe because he has an older sister to show him what to do. He can get a little wild at times, but that is the best part because we have so much fun playing. I would tell anyone who loves dogs and has time to give them love and affection to get a Yorkie. I am so in love with them I am going to get another baby soon Here is picture of him sleeping with Momma's favorite football teams towel Good luck with your search you have come to a great place to get info.
