| AKC Registration Name My coworker is allowing me to do a full AKC registration for Whiskey instead of a limited registration. I need help with ideas on a name for the registration. |

| My husband and I have registered our AKC dogs, but they have all been pets, and we never intended to breed them. Therefore we have been rather whimsical with our selections, and were even made to correct the name of our first registered dog. We had a mini schnauzer whom we named "Big Lucky King of the Dogs". Apparently you may not use the word "dog" in an AKC name, so he became "Big Lucky King of the Canines" (aka Lucky). Jim named our parti, who looked scruffy as a pup, Tyrone and we registered him with that single name. He is full of energy, and loves to rough house with my husband, and has lived up to the name even though he has a full coat, and an "elegant" look. When I received our little black/tan yorkie as a special 65th birthday present, I decided to put a more cuddly name into the universe. Therefore he became "Mommy's Sweet Baby Gus". At two and a half years old, he lives up to that name, and he is sitting with me now giving me puppy kisses! I would suggest that you have fun with his moniker. You can take a little time to know your little one's personality, and take it from there!

| I don't bother anymore with registering with AKC, I would never mate my babies. Many years ago I had a mini Schnauzer, her AKC name was Mischievous Mystique, this lil girl lived up to her Mischievous name lol, I called her Misty. I agree with nanajoy, get to know your babies personality first I'm sure you will find a unique name from her personalities.

| Thank you for the tips! I don't think I'd ever want to breed Whiskey. This is my first purebred and never had an option to register. I really like the AKC reunite option. Has anyone chosen the platinum akc registration option? The free akc training helpline looked appealing. Can you register with the silver option and later upgrade to gold or platinum or you have to make your pick and that's what you will always have? |

| Ollie is my first AKC pup but my girls are ACA registered. I use it like a birth certificate and just put their full name. Like with Ollie it’s Oliver Riley, Penny’s full name is Penelope Ann, Joey is Jospeh James. Callie was my first dog with any kind of registry so hers is Princess California but I refer to her as Callie Mae. I suggest the AKC microchip too. My vet put my pups in while they are under for spaying or neutering. I’m raised southern so we use full names when in trouble lol.
