| Expert Groomer Referral My beautiful Yorkshire Terrier got the absolutely worst haircut ever!! She's always had floor length hair, and I wanted it cut short for easier maintenance now. What I got back was a dog that doesn't even look like mine. All my written instructions and pictures provided to this "groomer" were ignored and she did what she wanted or what she only knew how to do. Please help me find someone in New Jersey (preferably Camden County or Gloucester County) who knows how to groom a Yorkie. I'm just sick over this. She was so gorgeous before. People would stop me when I walked her and even took pictures of her if I took her in a stroller to a shopping mall. She didn't deserve this and neither did I. Please someone help or give me some encouragement. She has chopped up layers all over her body! |

| Been there...! Not that Piper had a gorgeous coat, but I like it long and tossely and first groomer did to Pipe just what yours did to your girl and I'm very sorry. However, please know that their coats grow pretty quickly and a good groomer will be able to even out the cut while actually making it look longer! The 2nd groomer I took Piper to did just that and we remained faithful, happy clients for the next three years until moving across the country. Search the web, ask people you meet who are walking their dogs, etc. You'll find someone--and thank God your little girl simply looks different and wasn't harmed in any other way. 1st picture shortly after bad groomer, 2nd good groomer a couple of months later |

| Been there, sorry I have no referrals just wanted to say, if she has chopped up layers of hair why not go someplace else and have them just do a puppy cut on her body. It will be shorter but at least even and will grow back even, and puppy cuts are cute. I can Imagine your shock at seeing her, I went through that with a poodle many years ago, they had shaved her completely down including her face, she was a beautiful silver grey lass, she looked so ugly that I cried and the poor dog hid under the bed. Thank goodness hair does grow back.

| Sometimes it’s a shock when they get a major hair cut like that too. Just don’t make her feel bad. Have you tried looking on yelp?

| Sorry you had the bad experience, it is hard to find a groomer that does exactly what you want. However the above suggestion for a puppy cut is good, you usually can’t go wrong with that and the shape of the dog is maintained. |
