Ok I see why you selected the 18 pounds lol.

So I just checked the dimensions of the one I have for Cody that holds a dog up to 18 pounds they are

16"wide x 14" deep x 8"high.

Which are the same dimensions of the Solvit deluxe, your 5 pound Gidget will be very comfy in one this size, she could stretch out instead of curling up, and, you could add a blankie if you wanted to. That is really not a very large basket although it sounds big when you say 18 lbs for a 5 Lb dog.

BTW it's nicer looking then the one I have.

Matese, I'm like you. I'm not looking for anything fancy--just workable. Will check out Petco and PetSmart to see if either one has the solvit in store. Thanks for your help.

It was my pleasure. Let us know how it works out for you and Miss Gidget. It's will be a heck of a lot safer then having her in your lap. In NY and Pa. it's against the law to drive with a dog on your lap, they will pull you over and ticket ppl for that.

I've ordered the tagalong from Chewy and it should be here tomorrow. Am so excited because Gidget and I have some shopping to do on Wednesday.

That was fast, you are going to love the booster seat and so will Gidget. She'll be able to see out of the window all comfy. You must take a pic and post it on YT showing Gidget loving her new booster seat.
