| who works FT? and what do you do??? My husband and I both work FT, but odd hours. He is off Mondays, i do 1/2 day Tuesday. Im off Thursday and 1/2 day Sat and we're both off Sundays. On Wed & Fridays when we are both away all day, i go home for about 40 minutes and feed her and let her out to play and run. When she's home alone and at night we keep her in a 4'x4' pen which she has room to run & play in, a bed, food/water, and a wee- wee pad. But i feel SO BAD like i am being a mean person. The guy we got her from said to keep in ALWAYS in the pen and crate her a night. i DO NOT do that- just then pen and let her have the run of the house when we're home. WHat do other FT workers do while they are away for their pups???

| I work full time as a controller for 2 car dealerships. I work M-F 7:30 -5. In addition to that job I am a full time single mom of a 13 year old travel hockey player. I am rarely home. I got my furbaby with the understanding that I could take him to work with me. Jeter has taken quite a liking for the game of hockey. |

| My husband and I both work full time, but my older children are home off and on through the day. But when my daughter is at college or work and my son is at work - to be safe with 6 yorkies we have their pens they go in. They have water, food, pillow, and their blankets. They are not in there long. I get home around 3:45, so it works out great! They are probably only in there for 1 - 2 hours. I think this is the best - since I do not want them to get into anything and get hurt - so the pens is the best for them. I have seen one of my yorkies get on the coffee table - while I was home and was taking the magazines and ink pen from it and was starting to chew them up and this was with me home. So I can only imagine what they would do if I was not at home. I probably would not have a home to come home to and my yorkies would be sitting there with wood and fabric sticking out of their mouths with an expression such as, "I didn't do this!" T. |

| MY hubby and I work FT too, and I also have adult children. One in college away one with me that works FT and college at night. I also have my mom who is here from time to time, but is out a lot doing things and working PT. When we are not home the little ones go in their crate, until we get home, and they are also there at night.. (they can not be trusted yet??) They don't seem to mind it much, as when we are home they all get the full house and yard to run in !!

| I breed and own 12 furbabies. I also work full-time, I have my mom come and take care of the crew every 4 hrs to break up their day and rotate pads. Imagine coming home to a house with 12 little dogs that were left alone for 8 hrs using pee pads..Uh..no thanks!!! Some are allowed to roam free in the house and the others are confined in my kitchen with pee pads and a sliding glass door out to the backyard for entertainment purposes..lolol. IMO..more than 4 hrs is too long to leave a dog of any breed. Not that it's abusive to do so, but how boring, especially if you have just one. It's just my personal opinion. Now, to keep my mom motiviated and to guarantee they have their daily visitor. I pay her a nominal fee. Sometimes I have puppies that add extra work and I need someone to check in on everyone. Regardless, I think having your Yorkie in an Xpen is very wise and the best way to handle the 'home alone' situation. |

| Hubby and I both work FT. I work at a local long term acute care hospital and hubby is a fire fighter (he has a part time job on his days off). When he's not at the fire station (on for 24 hours), he stops by to let the babies out and check on them. On the days he's at the fire station 24 hours and I'm at work, Gabby and Gage have free roam of the kitchen (child gate blocks their way to the rest of the house). Oldest gets home from school by 3:00 so the longest they are at home alone is about 7 1/2 hours. |

| Its just me and I work FT at ING, I am a case manager for the new business life insurance dept. I also work a 2nd job Part Time at Pet Parade. A local pet store. That is an awesome place to work, the owner is wonderful and I like her because she will not buy puppies from puppy mills. If she hears anything bad about a breeder she will not buy from them anymore. |

| Me and my boyfriend both work full time but we are lucky we work the exact same hours 5am till 12pm (at different jobs) which is great. If we ever wanted to do over time then my dad lives about 10 doors down from our house and he could easily pop home and see if Smudger was ok and let him out for a wee as he pops home from work twice during his 7am-6pm job to see his dog and let him out. But at the moment we're both home for 12 everyday

| I do hair and have a super flexible schedule so I plan on coming home to play with Oliver once if not twice a day (I live just a few blocks from the salon) But.... he cries when I put him in his xpen and I get worried... I just brought him home yesterday. Do they get better being in their pens? |

I know how you feel!!! I work fulltime (usually leave by 9:15am and I'm back home by 6:00 pm... no breaks), and my husband is gone a lot. I have the kitchen gated off for Trixie, so she at least has room to move around if she wants (plus it's tile which is easy to clean in case of emergency). I give her lots of toys, she has her blankie and her pet bed. She always gets a Kong before I leave so she has something to do. And I hide treats for her in different spots. I also leave the lights on for her and leave a radio on. But I think she sleeps most of the day, because she is WIRED when I come home at night. And then, to make up for the time she's by herself, I try to be home every night and spend good quality time with her on the weekends.

| I work full time for Petsmart as a Pet care specialist, Cashier, and whatever else they want me to do. Example: make tags, stock shelves. I love my job, the only problem I have is sometimes I work nine hour days. Most of the time they're eight, until recently it seems. I get hour lunches and only work four miles away from home, so when I can I come home and play with Tigger. Lately I've been a bad mommy and haven't. If I work less then eight hours I only get a half hour so I just stay at work. John(my boyfriend) works for a company called Builders First Source as a technical systems/Network admin. and of course He's salary so he works some seriously RIDICULOUS hours. a couple of nights ago he stayed until three A.M. Plus, he works twenty miles away and it's a twenty or so minute drive(if traffic is good). So.... the only time he see's Tigger is when he comes home from work. When we're gone we keep Tigger gated in the Kitchen, He used to be allowed to have the house to himself(but he started destroying things.) He gets a treat in the morning, fresh water, lots of toys, his 42" round plush bed, and pee pads. He seems to do fine.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I work FT at an elementary school. My title is Parent Liaison but it's otherwise known as a truant officer. Not only do I take and keep up with attendance, but I do the weekly newsletter, organize parent info nights, take parents to court for truancy, balance attendance for ADA every 6 weeks...just to name a few. My husband works shift work...12 hour shifts...and he's 4 on and 4 off with a week off every month.

| I work part-time and go to school full time. Stewie is home and has the run of the 1st floor. He spends most of his time looking out the window and napping. My dad gets home early on MWF and I get home early T & Th. I also have my cousin who takes Stewie out several times a day. If I am going to be gone longer than 8 hours, I get him a pet sitter for the whole day.

| I work full time, but just recently started working from home 2 days a week. The other days Tucker is in a crate from 8:30 to 3:00. He mostly sleeps during the day. Even when I'm home he spends a lot of time sleeping in the sun. He has tons of energy at night, so we spend a lot of time playing with him. Since it's always been this way for him, he's never had a problem with it.
