Sounds to me like you and your husband are doing the best you can. We all hate to leave our pets home alone so much of the time ---but in today's world - there aren't many stay-at-home wives.

I live along and work four 6-hour days. My pup is confined in the kitchen when I work and has the run of the house when I'm home (wearing a belly band).

Looking around - I think most people in this world with dogs or other pets work. So, it's just something we all have to adjust to.

I'm sure if our pets have everything they need when we're gone and get a lot of love and attention when we're home -- they are just fine! Because mine are in the house most of the time, they sleep the better part of the day away anyway - whether I'm here or not!

I am a Spanish teacher in public school here in Jersey. I've been there for 7 years. Right now I teach 6th-12th graders. I'm also a volunteer on our Rescue Squad, but I haven't been pulling duty lately b/c I'm going back to school 3 days a week (now until April) to become an EMT. I put a picture of me in the ambulance b/c I really like that pic.
