| Well it hasn't gone well here lol. She is a really hyper and high strung dog (lots of personality). I tried benadryl and she's quite sleepy but as soon as I come near her with the swab she rallies and raises holy hell. I am seeing the vet tomorrow and am going to bring the swabs with me to see if she can be of any help. If nothing works I will have to wait until she is spayed and ask them to swab her at that time. I was only able to get a swab in her mouth for a couple seconds. There is simply no way I am going to be able to rub inside her cheek for 20-30 secs as directed. I've been thinking of puppy classes and after this morning I will be calling around. She's so lucky she's such a sweetheart because man oh man is she a handful |

| The update is that the DNA sample will be collected during Sophie's spay at the end of the month. We'll probably hear something definitive by mid April.

| Hey everyone! So Sophies test is finally off to be tested. Should arrive at Animal Genetics in a few days and then 3-5 days for testing. So I could have the results in as little as 6 days. Sophie's doing incredibly well. Super happy and what a little ham, she's just wonderful. The spay went well and she's back to the vets today for a check up Then off to puppy classes starting Saturday. Hopefully the test will show she's just a unique looking little button Will be sharing as soon as the results arrived so cross your fingers and hope for a celebration |

| Ok quick update just in case you thought I wasn't still here lol. Animal Genetics received the DNA kit on Tuesday April 24th. It can take up to 5 days for the test to be completed and I have no idea if that includes the weekend. So I am expecting to know by Tuesday. So far Sophie is doing GREAT! If excitability and playfullness are an indicator of health she's really healthy. If barking all the time is an indicator of health she will outlive me lol. She's in puppy class and I just hired a private dog trainer to help Sophie learn to control herself a bit Lol I wish I had the bank account to match the care she gets :P Oh well she's so worth it! Anyhow that's a quick run down on Sophie so far. Cross your fingers for me as I am so nervous about the results. |
