| So nice to see you again. Coco is a beautiful kitty, he fits in perfectly with your fur family. So wonderful you saved this kittens life. So sorry to hear of Tito's passing. In tropical countries there are many amphibians that can be fatal if ingested by animals. Your fur family are just beautiful. Thank you for stopping by and sharing stories, photos and up dates of your fur babies. Happy holidays to you and your family.

| I know this, I remember MauiGirl, Sandy, lost one of pups from eating a poisonous toad. I immediately googled if that toad or any poisonous amphibians was in my area since I get a lot of frogs and toads on my deck in the warmer weather after a rain fall. Thankfully no poisonous amphibians in my neck of the woods. Many years ago I had a cousin that lived in Fl. his Poodle swallowed a small frog that became stuck in the pups throat, the pup died of suffocation. For that reason in spring and summer before I let Cody out, I check the deck area for frogs and toads. This boy would snap it up in a heart beat.

Terrible for your cousin....I just cannot imagine going through something like that. I had a foster that ate a few garden toads in my yard.....sickening but harmless. My pups now pretty much leave them alone but they love the anoles in my plants. I have to be watchful. It won't hurt them but I feel awful for the poor little lizards. The past couple of days I have had to chase down three in my house because I brought plants in from the cold. I thankfully saved them from my little terrors.

| Just saw this old thread and and I must say, it brought a smile to my face. It's incredible to see how your perspective on dogs and pet ownership has transformed over time. The bond between a dog and their human is a special and unique connection. It's no wonder that Otto has captured your heart and brought so much joy into your life. It's completely normal to feel overwhelmed with love and a sense of responsibility for your furry friend. If you're still interested in exploring more about dogs and their care (as I'm sure you are), visit this site where you can find any dog blog among the 50 listed there. It's filled with valuable information, tips, and stories that might resonate with you as a dog owner. I personally find it very helpful. Embrace the love and joy that Otto brings into your life! |

| Update on the gang: spoiler - NEW ADDITION Hi all! Time for an update on our crazy Yorkies Otto and Lola, our yorkie-wanna-be cat Coco and our new addition Nina our young orange girl cat! Last time I mentioned how we rescued Coco, my wife found him near the airport he was about to be run over and my wife stopped and rescued him from the middle of the road . He was so tiny he could not even see at the time. Well he definitely thinks he is a Yorkie! He tags along with Otto and Lola to the park next to our house, plays with them, eats with them and fights with Lola a bit. Nina came to us as one day we heard her in a drain close to our house. This was in summer and we worried about the rainy season that was about to start as the drains get flooded. She lived there for a while , we lured her into our garage for a few weeks for dinner and then we grabbed her and well she is at home now! Otto just turned 8! Lola is 7 now and they are still as crazy and active as ever. They continue to enjoy playing in the park every day. Lola still think she owns our bed and she grants permits to Otto and Coco during daytime but she says its off limits at night. However, Coco has managed a system to come onto the bed and sleep between my wife and I at around 1am without Lola notice him, he is such a big baby and needs attention. Nina is still a daddys girl and she follows me everywhere and stays next to me when I am working. Hope everyone is doing great! |
