| 16 Year Old Yorkie Surrendered I was just looking through Petfinder. A yorkie who is 16 was taken to a shelter in Texas to be euthanized. They didn't want her. She is being brought up to NJ by a rescue to be rehomed. Just don't understand. Our Max was given up at seven because he wasn't affectionate. He's a non-stop lover. We adopted ten year old Spenser in December, but his owner had died, so different a reason. I understand that there are reasons a good responsible owner might need to rehome a dog of any age, but it seems always sad and sometimes just mean to turn in a dog without compelling reasons. Sorry, did rescue for ten years, but never get past some decisions. Gew |

| That just makes me angry. A dog is a life long companion and a member of the family. You don't get to turn a kid in because they act like idiots sometimes and you should not get rid of a companion who has given you most of their life and all of their heart!

| That poor baby, his life soon is coming to a closing and they get rid of him, makes me sick to my stomach. My girl was 17 yo, deaf, blind, no bladder control, had dementia, I would give anything to have her back. I pray someone will take this poor baby.

| As far as I know the dog, Mackenzie, is still available. She is en route to New Jersey to the Elenth Hour Rescue group. If anyone can take her, I would gladly help to transport her to them. I adopted a ten year old in December and a seven or eight year old in March, and now have five. But, I would gladly help. Check Petfinder.com. Mackenzie. Gew |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | This makes me sick and crazy . And angry as heck. We get seniors at the shelter where I volunteer - and I have to contain my emotions over it, bc it just really breaks my heart SO much - to dump off these poor babies - many of whom can't see well or at all, or can't hear. I don't know how anyone could do that to these loving beings.

| OMG this is way too sad. Reputable breeders will always offer a home to dogs originating from their kennels.

| How cruel and heartless. I lost both of my precious babies at age 12. I would give anything if they had lived to age 16. How can anyone do this?

YT 1000 Club Member | So sad. I have 3 Yorkies. I got my first one at 9 years old, he is almost 12 now. Love him to pieces. Got my 2nd one from a friend as a puppy. Love of my life, he is a trick dog and stole my heart completely. My daughter owns his sister so she is my GrandYorkie, she is a sweetie, way too smart for her own good. She lives several hours away though. I thought life was great. Then a month ago I was contacted on Facebook by a friend who lives in another state. She knew someone who was trying to find a home for a Yorkie. She is 7 years old, has seizure's and was a week away from going to a shelter. Well, needless to say, I have 3 Yorkies. She is the sweetest dog you could ever ask for. She gets her seizure medicine and hasn't had a single seizure while she has been with me. My dogs took her in immediately. I can't imagine how anyone could give her up like that. I drove 6 hours to get this new dog and believe me, it was worth the drive. I would take in all the yokies needing homes if I could! I hope someone will let this one live out the remainder of their years in a peaceful and loving home.

YT 2000 Club Member | Dog rescue God bless you for taking the sweet yorkies in and giving them a happy comfy home. It is tough when they pass but what a reward knowing you gave them love and comfort. It is a hospice for dogs job and the rewards outweigh the sacrifices. Nothing like the true love of a sweet yorkie. Last edited by sandy simpson; 08-12-2017 at 07:00 PM. |

| I can see my posting in this thread, but I am unable to find another posting made about the same time. Can anyone help me out here? I realize this is not how one would normally ask for help, but I cannot find any other way to contact anyone for this. My post was about my Yorkie, Gracie and a Yorkie new to us, Masha, who is acting aggressively towards her. Also, I was a member here earlier, but don't seem to find any record of postings or history. Thank you, Sorry for the trouble. minniesmother |
