| Dog collars, clothes, etc? Hey guys, I know this is non-important question but curious.... Do dogs mind wearing clothes? Like my moms dog didnt like her clothes at first and chewed on it (it was a winter sweater for the cold) but after a while she stopped chewing it and didnt care about it. I was wondering if it's a bad idea to get something like a doggy head band and a doggy dress? It's not going to be on a daily basis- but more of like around halloween(or HOWLoween for them?) christmas and certain holidays or just when people come over and i want her to look snazzy or something. Like I saw this https://www.disneystore.com/pet-esse...27447/1032312/ (the second image in there shows the dress/vest/harness that's sold separately). I was thinking of some kind of costume or dress. Not sure if she'll even put up with it so maybe i should try with something cheaper first... lol... But it's so adorable I just want to see her wear it once. Photo worthy. As for collars, do you guys know any online store that sells good quality collars with more variety? I looked at walmart, petco, petsmart and even homegoods and the collar selection was kind of depressing... she still has her original collar that I bought her and I was thinking of getting her something nice. On one side I was thinking maybe a martingale, but then I kind of want to see her with a studded collar (by studded I don't mean the sharp edged ones-- I mean the ones with the flat round metal buttons-- like the one on the link bellow). http://www.leatherbrothers.com/images/100LS-BK.jpg I guess a dog doesn't really care but it's sort of personal eye candy for me. |

| Special collar & tag Our pup was allergic to her microID chip so we had to have it removed. So, we were VERY worried about identification since she doesn't wear her harness all the time. We found embroidered collars and purchased one like this: https://www.amazon.com/Personalized-...d+collar&psc=1 It has her name and my cellphone number on it. We love it! And so we didn't lose the information contained in her chip we ordered a single tag for her collar from Pet Link so her microID chip info could be accessed if she was lost even without the chip. https://store.petlink.net/products/hd-collar-tag With all the irritation to her skin from the chip allergy she really objected to collars but with it out she is fine with this one. And she doesn't mind this tag since it's small and doesn't make any noise. There is no leash loop on it, which we are glad for since we never want a leash on her attached to her collar - only a harness. Now, clothes - she loves her jammies. And any dress with a ruffle is a hit. But no hats, headbands, shoes, socks. She will get them off before we can blink. We don't use velcro fasteners since her hair can get caught in them. So just easy slip over the head cotton blend styles. She has a parka with built in harness for cold weather and a variety of sweaters. She's not a fan of full turtlenecks but is fine with a mock. |

| I live in NH, so sweaters and jackets are a must in the winter: yorkies don't have the ability to keep themselves warm like some other breeds do. I also keep a doggy t-shirt in my purse in case we go somewhere that's overly air-conditioned. Style is a personal thing: I only buy items that look like miniature versions of things my hubby would wear hiking. So Fabian has a lot of Eddie Bauer! <g> |

Our favorite onsie for our pup is a red plaid flannel Jackson Hole, WY outfit. Warm and cozy for mountain adventures. We also use thermal fabric onsies for cool weather. Her parka with the built in harness is a full coat. I like it because it keeps her underside clean and dry.

| My dogs wear clothes every day unless we are actually going out and it's hot. Callie started wearing clothes as a puppy so she is used to them and if you hold the shirt or dress she will put her head and arms in herself. Joey has been wearing clothes since a puppy to but he would ocassionally take them off,he has thinner hair and gets cold very easy so he learned he needs them and he has started putting his own legs in. Penny is fine with clothes and has been getting very used to them. Yorkies don't have under coats just human like hair so they get colder easier. My office has a walk in closet and I hand their clothes on baby hangers. I dress them up for Halloween and other holidays. They aren't going to keep something on their head though because most dogs hate things on their heads. I only use collars for their rabies tag and Id tag and I buy yellow dog designs ones from https://www.dogcollarsboutique.com. I am absolutely not a fan of martingale it is just like a choke collar and I would never use them on any dog. You risk trachea collapse by useing a collar or choke collar on any dog and the smaller they are the more likely it is to cause issues. Harnesses should be used when hooking them to the leash. Because they wear a collar all the time I try to go with soft comfortable collars.

Our pup used to wear clothes everyday but when she started having issues with the microchip we left clothes off to allow her skin to breath. In the winter, however, clothes are a must or we find her sitting on the heat vents enjoying the warm breeze. That dries her skin out way too much. On our hot summer days if she wears jammies she sweats even with the air conditioning on. So, I cover her fleece bed with a cool pillow case and leave the jammies off. Then she doesn't smell like dirty socks. lol We have problems with her harness rubbing her one armpit area bald. I've tried different harnesses and lining the harness with less friction causing fabric, but no luck yet. I agree never a leash on a collar.

| Piper wears collars, but only for inside and looks. She always wears choke-free harness when we're out and about and as several in many varieties (ok selection at BaxterBoo on-line). She always wears a sweater when weather is cold for going out. I'd suggest having a distraction (something your pup likes) after putting her in first outfit, then she probably won't mind the dress up; plus they usually adjust---or maybe decide it's simply easier to humor their crazy (me anyway) people!!! |

| I have a collar obsession LOL. CollarMania.com is my favorite for fabric. Everything can be custom and sooo many fabrics to choose from. Paco Collars and Ella's Lead are my favorite for leather. Green Trout Outfitters are my current favorite leashes. Zee.Dog looks cute but I don't own any (yet lol). Check Etsy as well - many collar makers on there among other dog products! Buddy Belts are popular harnesses (YT member Kristin (maximo) is a seller) and I love our Puppia harnesses. Ruffwear makes good outdoorsy stuff, as does Hurtta and Ezydog.... Most of the time, Jackson does not wear any clothes. He doesn't really mind them though. I put jackets and sweaters on him in the winter. He really only gets cold when it's like under 32 degrees F or if it's real windy or rainy etc out... But no problem putting cute outfits on pups for photo shoots etc! I think people get too worked up over it.

| Urban Pup has some unique collections of clothing, collars, harnesses, and much more that you wouldn't otherwise find in store. Although I live in Canada so there aren't stores here that sell Urban Pup products but maybe in the US they do and you've already come across them. I've ordered from the website and loved my purchases. https://www.urbanpup.com |

Did Jackson put some of the products you mentioned above to the test on your vacation? He's a great pup. The vacation photos are amazing.
