| Shana, I just double posted about this same thing! I couldn't agree with you more and it's so important for people to know that a yorkie is a yorkie! |

| I look at pictures of people's yorkies and just love them all. They are cute no matter the size. But as soon as someone posts pictures of a tiny, all heaven and earth shatters because all we get are lectures about health risks, breeding risks and puppy mills. So what if there was a thread about being a proud tiny owner? I don't see why that would make you feel left out or hurt, when you could just comment on the picture instead of being negative or don't comment at all and let the thread keep it's fun mood. There was no seperation, the fact is there are different looking yorkies and pictures were being posted of them.

| I have tiny pups too but I didn't purposely purchase them because they were tiny. I found Carter Christmas week last year and he wasn't all that far from me. I had no idea that he was going to be smaller than the standard -- I wasn't all that knowledgeable. Until last week, I thought Carter was still under 4# (3.6# to be exact). The vet's office must have had their scales recalibrated. He weighed 4.4# last monday at 18 months. Cooper is 3.9# according to the recalibrated scales. I didn't pay an exorbitant price for Carter or Cooper . . . in fact, Cooper was given to me by Carter's breeder. Shana . . . please don't feel that you can't share you lil' one with us. You shouldn't feel the need to be a closet yorkie owner. What I do have a problem with is those that breed tinies to be able to sell tinies at a cost that is way out of line in a scheme to cunningly market to those that don't know any better.

| I don't understand why that thread was closed.....it does seem unfair that threads about larger yorkies exclusively are allowed to remain open and this one on tinies is closed. I was enjoying the thread and talking about the good qualities of tinies instead of just how sickly they supposedly are and how much trouble they are and how fragile they are and all of the negativity about why it is not good to own one or want one. Oh well, I adore my babies and hope to share the news with everyone that tinies are just as wonderful as their larger brothers and sisters... |

Thank you to those of you that "get it" and posted the pictures of your little ones. ( they are all adorable and it was fun while it lasted) I didn't get a chance to get back with you before the thread was closed. Not sure why it was locked but it sure seems like we aren't allowed to enjoy our little ones here on YT. I started the thread b/c everything regarding Tinies is negative on this board. We shouldn't want them and one person even said we were "criminal" for wanting a tiny. It's okay to have and want a large one, even start threads showing pictures with bragging about just how big and healthy they are. I get tired of reading how unhealthy my dog is. Today someone posted they aren't as smart. No one locks that thread but a thread talking about the joy of having one is locked. Amazing. If the thread made you sad you really need to ask yourself why? It had nothing to do with you and the love you feel for your larger dogs. It was our chance to shine and be proud of our babies. It's a shame you had to take that away. Thank you to those of you that PM me. I appreciate your understanding. Call me crazy but I am tired of being called criminal and a snob. Being told I got my dog for a status symbol. She isn't unhealthy, she isn't ugly and she isn't dumb. JUST IMAGINE if I said anything close to that about larger Yorkies. I don't get it and I am tired of trying to figure it out. | |

| I think that what really happen is that some owners of tinies got offended by this thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28833 Then Midge5353 posted this: When I posted this article, I did not mean for it to start a big controversey. That wasn't my intention. I just wanted everyone to know that people were being informed about the "teacup scam" If for some reason this AMAZING article offended you, I'm sorry for posting it. If this is going to turn into a big debate, I will just ask Admin to close the thread. __________________ *`~`*Stephanie*`~`* And the boys: Riley, TJ, and Charlie Then I think that thread came up because of that article. I think it has less to do with owning a tiny and more to do with that arguement on a prior thread. Just incase you missed all that. |

| Administrator | We at YorkieTalk love all Yorkies (and even Yorkie mixes). We do not discriminate based on size here. There are Yorkies as small as two pounds and as big as twenty pounds. It makes no difference to us. People with any size of Yorkie should be proud of their Yorkies, and if they want to show off their sized Yorkie here at YorkieTalk, they may do so. As simonandhallie has said, we just want to make sure all Yorkies are taken care of well, are healthy, and are adored by their parents. Thus, that thread has been reopened with all off-topic posts removed. |

| Gee, I do not understand all the hoop about tinies? I have a six pack ranging in size from 1.9 to 8 lb. What is the big deal about weight? Grrrrrrrr Some people are never satisfied! You could post an elephant beside a yorkie and somebody would get upset and start complaining. Hopefully we are here to enjoy yorkies, no matter what their size. Learn from eachother and help when we can, if ask. Personally, I love all yorkies, they are like potato chips you can't have just one. As far as breeding tinies, I beleive it's up to the individual. If someone wants to take the chance I believe they own their baby and have the right to do as they see fit. Hopefully the consequences will be considered, get good advise from their vet and do what they feel is right. Each of us have to live with the decisions we make for our babies.

| I usually stay out of contraversial threads. I truly belive that specific thread was not intended to go sour or offend anyone. Due to family problems I haven't been on much in the past month other than the past 2 days. I must have missed quite a bit. Everyone seemed more sensative today than usual. There are always "size" threads, "food" threads, "medicine" threads, "name" threads and so on. I have never been offended by any of them whether they are about big or small or standard. I don't feel YT is taking a wrong turn or any turn for that matter. Same subject....Yorkies and our love and concern for them. I never did catch a thread that mentioned owning a Yorkie under standard size made you someone different status-wise than who you were before ... truth be told, no one member here holds a higher status than the next...even if they don't have a Yorkie. There is administration...and there is "us"....all of us. I happen to like "us" as a whole |

Dont worry about that article I dont think that it was an issue. I think it is very important to educate people about that kind of stuff. I actually didnt read that thread becuase I stay away from all threads that have the word teacup in the title. I really just dont like heated topics. Im sorry, I wasnt trying to point fingers at anyone member, or any particular post on here. I just get the over all negative vibe on this forum somtimes about small yorkies and the fact that I own one and that it is bad. And when that tiny thread was closed because it was taken the wrong way and got out of hand, it only seemed to confirm the feelings that I have. Thats why I started this thread.
