| Thank you for the suggestions of adding an enticement to the water. Good news: after a long walk and car ride full of barking, Max came home and took a good drink from his water bowl. I suppose he was thirsty enough to forget about being spooked. I'm going with dad's theory that Teddy probably bumped Max from behind and caused him to dunk his nose in the water bowl. Teddy is rude and often pushes Max out of the way to get a drink, no matter how many bowls we put out. You know how that goes, they always want the same thing. ![]() Crossing fingers that we are on our way back to normalcy.

| After pestering my dad throughout the day to get her cat down from the tree, he told my mom that he'd never seen a cat skeleton in a tree--meaning, of course, the cat will do what it must and eventually figures out how to get down. Having made his point, my dad went out late that night in the pouring rain and retrieved my mom's feline from the tree. When Max gets thirsty enough, he'll drink....however, I'll always climb the dang tree in the pouring rain for my Piper-girl, y'know?! Pragmatism and logic be damned, cuz let's face it, when it comes to our little ones none of us is much good with that eventually they'll figure it out thaang!!!! Our pups pack a whollop with the looks they give...yes?! |

| They can sure have their weird quirks huh? Sounds like something Jax would do. I was thinking maybe a bug or a fly or something was in it. Flies freak Jackson out for some reason so if there was something in his water bowl (I've found dead bugs before, not often, in the water bowl and I have to dump & clean -- just a thought).

Hope Max is feeling more comfortable with drinking out of the dish again. That would be such a thinker for me. Haha.. and Teddy is such a little devil for dunking poor Teddy's nose into the water!

He thinks bugs are great fun to chase. We use glass custard bowls for the boys' water and we put a clean bowl down every morning and change the water a few times a day. Happy to report that Max is almost back to his normal drinking levels. The way he leans toward the bowl, ready to jump back, I can tell he is still nervous though.

| What an entertaining thread to read- how very strange Kristin! Glad to hear little Max is almost acting normal. Lilah likes ice water and admittedly I was just feeding her a tasty cottage cheese treat from a spoon right before I read this, lol- oh these goofy dogs!
