YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Dog walkers in leash free parks? What do you think about this? Some new legislation being considered by city of Toronto to limit the number of dogs a dog walker can bring into a leash free park, At present there is no limit. But I got into a discussion with another patron when I saw this dog walker come in with eight dogs. How can anyone possibly intervene effectively when they have so many dogs? It is easy to say oh these dogs are well behaved but something can go wrong....then what? That dog walker that day said to me oh where is your big dog? I said they take turns in coming here as I can only effectively intervene with one dog at a time!!

| 8 dogs!!!!! yeah if they are the ONLY dogs in the dog park. NO way can you effectively watch all 8 dogs to make sure they are safe or not going into aggressive mode. If these dogs are NOT your dogs you cannot say what these dogs will do. Here's the bad thing, for YEARS we have fought for leash free dog parks, now ppl abuse these parks by bringing big dogs into small dog area, or bringing an aggressive dog in, not following the park rules, not cleaning up after your dog. Makes it BAD for ppl who obey rules. Where I live 6 years ago they put up 3 leash free parks, one area for small dogs, one for big dogs, they are now all closed due to ppl not following the park rules. Makes it bad for the ppl that did obey the rules. YES, there should be a limit for the safety of all dogs. Especially "dog walkers" that have multiple dogs.
